The My Thuan - Can Tho expressway has a maximum speed limit of 80km/h.

TPO - On June 1st, representatives of the My Thuan - Can Tho expressway management agency announced that they have basically completed reinstalling the signage system, reducing the maximum speed limit from 90km/h to 80km/h along the entire route.

This move aims to ensure traffic safety during operation, given the current high volume of vehicles, and at the request of the Traffic Police Department, to ensure consistency along the entire route (My Thuan 2 bridge has a maximum speed of 80km/h and the end of the route merges with National Highway 1).

This regulation applies to the entire route for all vehicles and will take effect immediately after the signage system is installed, which is now largely complete.

According to some drivers who frequently travel on the My Thuan - Can Tho expressway, the adjustments are reasonable and feel safer, as many bridge abutments have shown signs of subsidence and unevenness.

The My Thuan - Can Tho Expressway is part of the Eastern North-South Expressway project, spanning 23km across Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces. Its starting point connects to My Thuan 2 Bridge, and its end point connects to National Highway 1 leading to Can Tho Bridge. The project has a total investment of over 4,800 billion VND and was inaugurated and put into operation at the end of 2023.
