A Malaysian who understands Vietnamese football very well
After a season playing in the V-League, Endrick dos Santos believes he has a certain understanding of Vietnamese football. Speaking to Malaysia's New Straits Times , Endrick said: "Vietnamese players are strong and agile. They always have a strong desire to win. However, Vietnamese players also have weaknesses, which is physical strength. I believe that the Malaysian team will have good results when facing the Vietnamese team."

According to statistics from the Malaysian press, in the past 11 years, the Malaysian team has never won against the Vietnamese team in any official tournament. The two sides have met 8 times, with the Vietnamese team winning 7 times and drawing once. The last time Malaysia beat the Vietnamese team was the second leg of the AFF Cup 2014 semi-final. At that time, Malaysia won 4-2 at My Dinh Stadium.
However, in Endrick dos Santos's opinion, the balance of power and strength between the two sides has changed. The Brazilian-born attacking midfielder shared: "I have studied the strengths and weaknesses of the Golden Star Warriors (the nickname of the Vietnamese team) very carefully. I have discussed this and given advice to the players in the Malaysian team. I trust my teammates. We are 100% confident that we are developing in a better direction than before. The match between Malaysia and the Vietnamese team will be very good. The opponent is very strong, but we are developing well."
