The television program called Under the Flag of Victory will connect the panoramic picture of the pinnacle victory that shook the world, Dien Bien Phu.
The live broadcast of Under the Victory Flag is a highlight in the series of programs celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024). The program will look back with the audience on important milestones of 70 years ago through a combination of current experiences and past memories, between art and analysis and evaluation.
According to the production team, this name was inspired by the rotating flag "Determined to fight - Determined to win" sent by Uncle Ho to the front in 1953, which was a rotating award to encourage the entire army to overcome difficulties and dangers, enthusiastically compete and achieve achievements.
Under the Victory Flag will be broadcast live from 5 locations: Hanoi, Dien Bien, Thanh Hoa, Kon Tum , Ho Chi Minh City. Through that, the panoramic picture of the pinnacle victory, shaking the world Dien Bien Phu will be recreated realistically and multi-faceted, not only in Dien Bien but also throughout the country.
However, with the huge amount of historical information and witnesses of the Dien Bien Phu victory, conveying it in a television program is a big challenge for the production team. Therefore, preparations for the television bridge have been carried out since 2023.
Under the direction of VTV leaders, professional teams including editors and technicians went to each survey point, made detailed plans for each story content, and searched for beautiful camera angles. In addition, VTV also worked with relevant ministries, departments, and agencies such as the Veterans Association, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs , etc. to have accurate historical documents. The most difficult thing was to turn this information into a story on television.
The Dien Bien Phu victory left many valuable lessons and experiences not only in our nation’s resistance war against the French, but also in the country’s renovation today.
