On the evening of June 2nd, Marvell Technology's stock surged 20% after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang personally predicted it would be the next company to join the $1 trillion market capitalization club.
"When you take on a computing problem, break it down into smaller parts, and distribute them across an entire data center, the key prerequisite is connectivity. That's why Marvell is so important. This will be the next trillion-dollar company," Huang said.
Unlike Nvidia, which manufactures graphics processing units (GPUs), Marvell specializes in designing high-performance chips widely used in global data infrastructure, including cloud computing, AI, enterprise networks, 5G telecommunications, and automotive systems.
Marvell's first-quarter financial report for fiscal year 2027 showed revenue exceeding analysts' expectations. Specifically, the company recorded revenue of $2.4 billion and forecasts that this growth will continue throughout 2027, thanks to the core strength of its data center business.
Nvidia has also committed a $2 billion investment to Marvell. Not stopping there, the AI giant is also pouring billions of dollars into other companies developing photonics technology.
This technology uses light to transmit data. Experts consider this process to be far more efficient than traditional data transmission methods using electricity.
