Practical concern

Having had the opportunity to accompany the Provincial Federation of Labor's (LĐLĐ) delegations on numerous visits to union members and workers to present gifts, we clearly felt their joy and happiness upon receiving the care and attention from the trade union organization. Conversely, the union officials, despite their backs and foreheads drenched in sweat, always wore smiles on their faces as they delivered heartfelt gifts to the union members and workers.

Currently, the province has 705 grassroots trade unions and labor unions with 116,635 members out of a total of 121,317 workers, civil servants, and laborers. Mr. Do Tran Thinh - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation - stated that the production and employment situation of a segment of the workforce is still significantly affected, and their lives are facing many difficulties. With its political responsibility, emotional support, and representative role, the Trade Union organization is always present when workers need it, always accompanying them during the most difficult times. With that spirit, the Provincial Labor Federation identifies caring for its members and workers as both a key political task and a command from the heart of the Trade Union organization.

From the beginning of 2026 until now, the Provincial Labor Union has organized many activities to care for its members and workers, with the peak being the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse 2026. The Provincial Labor Union visited and presented 12,500 gifts to members and workers in difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses, experiencing work accidents, and those working on New Year's Eve, totaling 12.5 billion VND. In addition, the unit received 5,600 purchase vouchers from the "Online Trade Union Tet Market" worth 2.8 billion VND and 450 gift packages to support members and workers in difficult circumstances, totaling 885 million VND, allocated by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The grassroots trade unions also coordinated with the government, localities, and businesses to organize activities to care for union members and workers during Tet (Lunar New Year), benefiting 234,000 union members and workers, with a total expenditure of nearly 234 billion VND. In the first three months of 2026, grassroots trade unions and labor unions promptly visited more than 7,200 union members and workers who were sick, bereaved, or celebrating joyous occasions, with a total amount exceeding 3 billion VND.

The work of caring for union members and workers is closely linked to the task of stabilizing labor relations. The Provincial Labor Union regularly visits businesses to monitor the labor situation, employment, and the implementation of policies and regulations for union members and workers; creating a bridge to closely connect units, businesses, and workers, all aiming for sustainable development. The Provincial Labor Union continues to maintain and strengthen effective programs, while expanding many new programs and activities with the goal of providing more comprehensive and practical care.

The "Workers' Dormitory Self-Management Group" model was launched to create a safe, friendly, and warm living environment, helping workers feel secure in their lives, work, and strive for a better future. Ms. Duong Thi No, a worker at Hwaseung Rach Gia Co., Ltd., has been with the company for over 8 years. Participating in the "Coming to the Workers' Dormitory" program, she expressed her joy at being able to relax and have fun in a warm, friendly, and sharing atmosphere after a day's work. "I am grateful to the Trade Union for always caring for us workers in even the smallest ways, making us feel warm, confident in our work, and concerned about our lives," Ms. No confided.

Comprehensive and in-depth

Besides caring for the lives of its members, the Provincial Labor Union also organizes and creates conditions for union members and workers to participate in patriotic emulation campaigns, focusing on the movement of excellent and creative labor. Through these movements, union members and workers enthusiastically work and produce, improving efficiency and productivity, contributing to the development of their units and enterprises, and successfully fulfilling the province's socio -economic development tasks. From the beginning of 2026 to the present, the Provincial Labor Union has awarded certificates of merit to 63 collectives and 164 individuals, including union officials and union members and workers, who have made positive contributions to the workers' movement and union activities; awarded 1 collective and 2 outstanding individuals in the "Green - Clean - Beautiful, Ensuring Occupational Safety and Health" movement; awarded 10 outstanding individuals in the "Excellent in National Service, Good in Family Responsibilities" emulation movement; and awarded 6 outstanding individuals in the cultural and sports movement.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Quyen, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of An Giang Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company, shared: “I hope the Trade Union organization will continue to do a good job of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers through labor law consultation activities; protecting the legitimate rights of workers; maintaining the “Trade Union Shelter” program and other welfare programs for union members.” Mr. Truong Thanh Kien, Chairman of the Rach Gia Ward Trade Union, expressed his wish that the Trade Union organization would focus on building a stronger working class, creating motivation for workers to strive in labor and production, improving product quality, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the province and the country.

Understanding the thoughts and aspirations of trade union officials and members, the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions (LĐLĐ) continuously innovates the content and methods of its activities, focusing strongly on the grassroots level and organizing practical and appropriate activities. According to the Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions, Do Tran Thinh, during the Workers' Month, which coincides with the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026, the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions plans to donate 2,000 gifts to union members in difficult circumstances working at grassroots trade unions, affiliated unions, and ward and special zone trade unions. In addition, it will review and provide gifts to union members and workers who have suffered work accidents, occupational diseases, or serious illnesses.

During Workers' Month, many meaningful activities will be implemented, such as the "May Dialogue" program, the forum "Union Members Contribute to Building the Vietnam Trade Union in the New Era," the "Thank You to Workers" program, the "Labor Skills - Sustainable Employment" festival, and the peak month to promote innovation, digital initiatives, and improve labor productivity. "The Provincial Trade Union organization will continue to promote its role in representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers; building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations. Through this, it will help union members and workers feel secure in contributing and working creatively, making the improvement of workers' productivity the decisive factor in enterprise productivity, contributing to achieving the province's GRDP growth target according to the resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term," said Do Tran Thinh, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor.
