Dream scholarship

These days, Hanh Nguyen has received many congratulations from relatives, friends and teachers. Recently, Nguyen was honored to receive the "Lighting up the Future" scholarship from Swinburne Vietnam. This is a great joy for her. Because, like many students, the scholarship from Swinburne Vietnam has long been Nguyen's goal and motivation.

Since childhood, Hanh Nguyen has loved and regularly watched the program Road to Olympia. From here, she learned about the name Swinburne, where "climbing champions" are sponsored to study and develop. Swinburne has a history of more than 100 years, in the top 3% of the best universities in the world . In addition to Australia, this school has campuses in several other countries, and is the choice of tens of thousands of international students.

In Vietnam, Swinburne builds international training programs in cooperation with FPT University. With the desire to bring the opportunity to study international training programs closer to young people, Swinburne Vietnam implements two major scholarship programs: "Lighting up the future" and Olympia. Scholarships are considered based on average academic scores, social achievements, English proficiency, critical thinking and pioneering spirit.

With a great love for Swinburne, Hanh Nguyen is interested in all information about this school. She knows by heart the saying of Dr. Kelly Cassidy, Director of Education at Swinburne Vietnam: “We are looking for dynamic, hard-working students who want to change their studies for the better and are inspired to become Change Makers - pioneers of the future”.

Keeping that in mind, Hanh Nguyen always reminded herself to study hard first. From here, impressive achievements soon came to Nguyen. She has owned many titles, awards and passed the entrance exam to Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted with high scores. In high school, Nguyen achieved a total score of over 9.0 and had an IELTS score of 7.0. This is one of the impressive bullet points in her application to Swinburne Vietnam.

Hanh Nguyen said that in grade 11, she went to Ho Chi Minh City to visit and learn about Swinburne Vietnam. The trip strengthened her confidence, giving Nguyen more motivation to improve herself and conquer her dream school. “When I received the information that I was selected by Swinburne Vietnam to receive the “Lighting Up the Future” scholarship, I jumped for joy. I believe Swinburne Vietnam will be a good launching pad for me,” Hanh Nguyen shared.

Change to become an active person

Although born and raised in a happy family and loved English, Hanh Nguyen was an introvert since childhood. She liked to listen more than share. What makes Nguyen happy is sometimes simply sitting quietly during meals, listening to her grandparents, parents and younger sister talk.

Later, when he found his passion for literature, Nguyen’s world shrank to good books. “When I set the goal of conquering Swinburne Vietnam, I told myself that it was time to change to become a more dynamic, confident and inspiring person. Although I know that changing things that have been “deeply rooted” is difficult, I am not afraid,” Nguyen confided.

With that in mind, Hanh Nguyen has set up a “roadmap” for herself. She started by proactively interacting and supporting everyone. Being a good listener and now sharing openly, Nguyen has become a confidant to many of her classmates. Whenever they want to seek advice, they often think of her.

Surrounded by friends, Nguyen actively participates in activities and movements. He is an enthusiastic member of the Volunteer IT Club of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted. Together with other members of the club, Nguyen has many times gone to free IT classes for deaf and blind students and gone to the highlands to guide children in programming. He is also a notable face in scientific and technical research competitions.

Thanks to that positive change, Hanh Nguyen is increasingly appreciated, opening up many opportunities for her. The Swinburne Vietnam “Lighting Up the Future” scholarship is considered a worthy reward for Nguyen.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, Secretary of the Youth Union of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, said: “Hanh Nguyen is one of the outstanding members of the 12 Literature Youth Union. Not only does she have many achievements in her studies, she also enthusiastically participates in activities and movements, especially volunteer activities for the community.

Her enthusiasm, friendliness and high sense of responsibility have contributed to building a more united and strong team. I believe that with her natural talent, Hanh Nguyen will continue to perform well and achieve more achievements."

Hanh Nguyen said that the path to Swinburne Vietnam is also a journey of personal change. Stepping out of her comfort zone, she is more confident when entering a new learning environment, where many excellent faces gather.

After Swinburne Vietnam, Nguyen has planned for a new goal, determined to conquer another prestigious scholarship to get closer to the international media major. Although he knows that goal is not easy to achieve, Nguyen still has great faith. The saying: "Cannot stand still while the world changes" always urges him.
