Running for public health

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for all citizens to participate in physical exercise and sports, the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Sports and Physical Education ngành (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2026), and looking forward to the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Security Force (July 12, 1946 - July 12, 2026), on the morning of March 22, the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized the launching ceremony of the "Olympic Run Day - For the Health of All Citizens - For National Security 2026".

• Launching the 2023 Olympic Run for Public Health.
• Launching the 2025 Olympic Run for Public Health.
• Ca Mau responds to the Olympic Run Day - For the health of all people - For the security of the Fatherland in 2026.

Delegates performed the flag-raising ceremony at the launch event.

The participating athletes included: officers and soldiers of the armed forces; officials, civil servants, and employees of agencies and businesses; and residents of central wards in Ca Mau province.

The ceremony was broadcast live to more than 3,321 communes, wards, special zones, and centers in 34 provinces and cities nationwide. In Ca Mau province, the launching ceremony took place at Phan Ngoc Hien Square , An Xuyen ward, with the participation of comrades: Huynh Quoc Viet, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Minh Luan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with more than 3,500 athletes including cadres, soldiers of the armed forces, civil servants, and local people.

Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security , delivered the opening speech at the ceremony held at a central location in Hanoi.

Comrades Huynh Quoc Viet, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (8th from the left) and Nguyen Minh Luan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (7th from the left), presented flowers to the sponsoring unit and took a commemorative photo at the launching ceremony.

Immediately after the launch ceremony in Hanoi , running activities took place simultaneously across the country. In Ca Mau, athletes participated in a 1.5 km run around Phan Ngoc Hien Square, An Xuyen Ward.

The Olympic Run Day not only improves physical and mental health but also spreads awareness of physical training throughout the population. Lieutenant Tran Thi Thu Phuong (Immigration Management Department, Ca Mau Provincial Police) shared: "This activity is very meaningful, helping to improve health and create an enthusiastic atmosphere in the community."

Lieutenant Hong An Xuyen (Staff Department, Ca Mau Provincial Police) enthusiastically stated: “The activities have been expanded to include civil servants and citizens, contributing to spreading the spirit of physical training, improving health, and strengthening community bonds, aiming towards building a prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Ca Mau homeland.”

The 2026 Olympic Run Day is not just a simple sporting event, but a political activity with profound significance, reflecting the belief in a strong Vietnam entering a new era. Through this, it has attracted widespread participation from all walks of life in the sports and physical education movement, as well as the nationwide movement to protect national security.
