Details of the 2023 entrance exam scores for public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GD&ĐT) has officially announced the admission cutoff scores for 10th grade in public schools in 2023.

The entrance exam scores for 10th grade in public schools in Ho Chi Minh City in 2023 are as follows:

The cutoff scores for admission to public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City were announced this afternoon (July 7th), ranging from 10.5 to 25.5 points for the total of the three subjects: Mathematics, Literature, and English.

Nguyen Thuong Hien High School had the highest admission score, requiring candidates to achieve an average of 8.5 points per subject to pass. The lowest scores were at Da Phuoc, Binh Khanh, Can Thanh, An Nghia, and Thanh An Secondary & High School, with 10.5 points, equivalent to 3.5 points per subject.

The 10th grade entrance exam for public schools in Ho Chi Minh City took place on June 6-7. More than two weeks ago, the Department of Education and Training announced the exam results for nearly 96,000 candidates.

In the Foreign Language subject, approximately 32% of the exam papers received excellent scores (8 points or higher), the highest among the three basic subjects. The percentage of candidates scoring below average in Foreign Language was 32.3%, a decrease compared to last year's rate of 44.8%.

In Literature, the highest score was 9.25. Meanwhile, in Mathematics, there were 121 papers that received a perfect score. The percentage of papers scoring below average in Literature and Mathematics was 11.8% and 46%, respectively.

Nearly 110 public schools will accommodate approximately 77,300 students (80%). The remaining students can attend private high schools, vocational training centers, or vocational colleges. According to statistics, these institutions can accommodate around 51,000 tenth-grade students, primarily based on academic records.

Application submission period: From July 10th to 4 PM on July 25th. The documents that successful applicants must submit to high schools include:

- Application form for junior high school graduation examination in 2023 and entrance exam; Grade 10 entrance exam score report with exam scores and 3 preferences; Junior high school transcript (original);

- Temporary graduation certificates issued by educational institutions and birth certificates will be verified from the application file for the 10th grade entrance exam; submit the original diploma when issued by the Department of Education and Training;

- Certificate confirming eligibility for preferential policies (if any) issued by the competent authority.
