In February 2025, Apple introduced the iPhone 16e to replace the iPhone SE line in the budget price segment. According to numerous leaks, the successor to this model is expected to be announced at the end of February.

The iPhone 17e will have no design changes compared to its predecessor (Image: 9to5mac).
Reports suggest that the iPhone 17e will retain the same design as the iPhone 16e. It's highly likely that this product line will still use the notch display design, instead of the Dynamic Island design found on most current high-end iPhone models.
The most significant upgrade on the iPhone 17e comes from the A19 processor. This chip promises to deliver more powerful performance while improving energy efficiency, thereby extending battery life.
Apple is also expected to equip the iPhone 17e with the C1X modem, which will provide faster and more stable 5G and LTE connectivity than before. In addition, the C1X modem is also said to be more energy efficient.
According to The Information , the iPhone 17e may feature a glass back with integrated magnetic wireless charging. This means the product will support MagSafe and the Qi2 charging standard, similar to the iPhone 17.
The inclusion of MagSafe is a major improvement for those upgrading from the iPhone SE or iPhone 11. These models support Qi wireless charging but lack magnetic attachments.
The iPhone 17e will most likely still feature a 48MP rear camera. Regarding the front camera, the iPhone 17 series uses a new 18MP square sensor with Center Stage support. Analyst Jeff Pu predicts this new sensor will also appear on the iPhone 17e.
