“Mountain God’s Eye” or Thang Hen sinkhole, is located in the Phja Piot mountain area in Cao Chuong commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province. This is a giant circular karst sinkhole, exposed in the middle of a steep limestone mountainside – creating the feeling that there is a giant eye watching the sky and earth. Photo: MIA
From above, the sinkhole appears like a masterpiece of nature, both mysterious and magnificent. The diameter of the crater is about 50m, tens of meters deep, surrounded by steep cliffs covered with green trees, creating a spectacular and wild scene. Photo: Thu Trang
To reach the Mountain God's Eye, visitors usually depart from the center of Cao Bang city, travel about 50 km towards Trung Khanh. Then, continue walking or riding a motorbike along a trail about 2 km through the forest, grassy hills and green rice fields of the local people.
The route is not too difficult but requires a bit of physical strength and patience. However, the reward is completely worth it: a majestic, strangely quiet natural landscape, where you can fully admire the pristine beauty of the Cao Bang mountains and forests.
Unlike other tourist attractions that have been systematically exploited for tourism , Mat Than Nui still retains its wild beauty and is almost untouched by humans. This makes it an ideal destination for nature lovers, explorers, trekkers and photographers. Photo dulcihCaoBang
The best time to visit is from September to November, when the weather is dry, the sun is mild and the trees turn a brilliant yellow. In the early morning or at sunset, the sunlight filters through the mountain crevices, shining directly into the “eyes”, creating magical and enchanting paintings of light. Photo: Luxtour
Thanks to its unique beauty and the challenge of the journey to reach it, Mat Than Nui is becoming increasingly known in the community of adventure travel enthusiasts, especially young people who love adventure. This place is not only a "million view" check-in point, but also one of the most beautiful and rare natural sinkholes in Vietnam. Photo dulichCaobang
Although there are not many professional tourism services, that is what keeps this place quiet and pristine, very suitable for those who want to "escape the city" to immerse themselves in pure nature. Photo dulichCaobang
The Mountain God's Eye is not only a rare geological phenomenon, but also a symbol of the mysterious beauty of Cao Bang - where every step is a journey to discover the purest beauty of heaven and earth.
If you are looking for a different experience, don't miss the opportunity to visit this "eye of the mountains and forests". Photo dulichCaobang
