The 40-acre woodland garden was planted in the 1830s and opened to the public in 1953. Today, Issabella is famous for its collection of Japanese evergreen rhododendrons, with 50 species and 120 hybrids, planted along the lake, streams and small paths, blooming in early summer, making this place a "paradise" of rhododendrons of all colors: red, pink, purple to orange, yellow, white, creating a brilliant natural picture.
The unique feature of Issabella is that the garden is managed and operated according to organic principles, focusing on nature with native plants interspersed with exotic species. With a harmonious natural landscape and a rich collection of rhododendrons and other plants, Issabella attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to enjoy the fresh air and explore the unique beauty of the forest garden./.
