This afternoon (June 27th), over 1 million candidates participating in the 2023 high school graduation exam began the registration process and listened to the regulations being explained.

The 2023 high school graduation exam will be held on June 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th. Specifically: June 27th is the registration day for the 2023 high school graduation exam. The exam will be held on June 28th and 29th, 2023. June 30th is the reserve exam day.

The detailed exam schedule has been announced by the Ministry of Education and Training in the guidelines for organizing the 2023 High School Graduation Examination as follows:

After three years of the high school graduation exam being held amidst the complicated Covid-19 pandemic, this exam is returning to normal. This year's 12th-grade students have also had a full final year of in-person learning.

According to Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong, Head of the National Steering Committee for the 2023 High School Graduation Examination, with the participation of over 1 million candidates, approximately 250,000 people have been mobilized to participate in organizing the exam in various geographical regions.

Currently, all 63 provinces and cities have developed contingency plans and scenarios for natural disasters, floods, epidemics, traffic, fire prevention and control, electricity supply, etc., to promptly respond and handle any situations that may arise. According to statistics, approximately over 60% of universities use the results of the high school graduation exam for admissions.

This year, Hanoi has over 102,000 candidates participating in the exam, with nearly 4,500 examination rooms at 189 testing locations. To ensure the exam is conducted safely and seriously, Hanoi has mobilized nearly 15,000 officials, teachers, and staff to participate in invigilation duties.

Starting on June 28th, over one million students nationwide began taking the high school graduation exam. Of these, more than 943,000 students are taking the exam for both graduation and university admission.

The 2023 high school graduation exam consists of 5 tests: 3 independent tests (Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language); 1 combined Natural Sciences test (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology); and 1 combined Social Sciences test (History, Geography, and Civic Education for students studying the general high school curriculum, or History and Geography for students studying the continuing education high school curriculum).

The results of the high school graduation exam are expected to be announced at 8:00 AM on July 18th.

The process of recognizing high school graduation will be completed no later than July 20th. The Departments of Education and Training will announce the high school graduation results no later than July 22nd.

The printing and sending of exam result certificates to candidates must be completed no later than July 24th.

According to the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for the 2023 High School Graduation Examination, among the more than 1 million registered candidates, there are 37,841 independent candidates, accounting for 3.69% of the total; 47,769 candidates are only taking the graduation exam, accounting for 4.66%; 34,155 candidates are only taking the university entrance exam, accounting for 3.33%; and 943,340 candidates are taking both the graduation exam and the university entrance exam, accounting for 92.91%.

There were 323,187 candidates registered to take the Natural Sciences combined test (31.52%); and 566,921 candidates registered to take the Social Sciences combined test (55.30%).

The total number of examination centers nationwide is 2,273; the total number of examination rooms is 44,661.
