Reports indicate that there are currently instances of fraudsters impersonating delivery company employees in order to steal people's money.

Specifically: On August 17th, a resident in Nam Tu Liem received a call from someone claiming to be a delivery employee of the Fast Delivery Company, informing them of an order and requiring payment via bank account.

After sending 300,000 VND to the provided account number, the scammer informed the customer that due to an error, they needed to access a link to cancel their membership registration. Suspicious, the user did not comply with the request.

In another case, a customer, after transferring money for an order, received a similar request and followed it, resulting in a loss of 22 million VND.

An online shop owner on Facebook reminded their customers to check the accuracy of the information to avoid any problems. They also advised requesting photos of the package and shipping label to provide to the seller for verification.

In addition, the Cybersecurity Department has also noted instances of domestic postal and delivery companies being impersonated for recruitment scams. For example, Vietnam Post has recently been repeatedly posting warnings on its fanpage about individuals impersonating its brand to commit recruitment fraud.

Besides making public announcements on the company's official channels, Vietnam Post also requests that people not comply with requests, not access suspicious links, and not make payment transactions when asked.

The Cybersecurity Department also mentioned the phenomenon of impersonating delivery staff of courier companies to steal money in its warnings about online fraud in Vietnam.

Therefore, people are advised to always verify information related to services or promotions, absolutely not transfer money before receiving the goods, and not access suspicious links.

According to the Cybersecurity Department, to avoid becoming a victim of recruitment scams, it is necessary to verify information about the company through official channels and reliable sources.

At the same time, people are advised not to make bank transfers or provide important personal information without verifying the address and company information. In addition, they should thoroughly research the interview process, employment contract, and company terms and conditions before applying.
