The Tax Department ( Ministry of Finance ) said that recently on the social network Facebook, information appeared about some people receiving envelopes from the Tax Department via express delivery (SPX) with a request to pay 80,000 VND. However, when opened, the recipients reported that inside was only a photocopy of a State agency's official dispatch.

In this case, the Tax Department affirmed that the envelopes and documents inside were not issued by the Department or any tax agency. The type of envelope as shown in the image circulating online is not the model used in the tax agency system.

The Tax Department informs people to be aware, prevent and promptly notify the nearest authorities if the subjects contact to send and demand payment for delivery fees. This agency also recommends people to be vigilant, not to make payment if encountering similar situations and immediately report to the nearest authorities.

The agency also requested post offices and shipping units to coordinate in providing information to verify and clarify fraudulent behavior when receiving envelopes with unusual signs.
