QTO - Instead of having to rush to take time off work or arrange their schedules during the week to complete paperwork, many residents of Bac Gianh ward now have the option of using their weekend days off. After two weeks of implementing the "Saturday: Dedicated Government - Convenient for Citizens" model, the Bac Gianh Ward Public Administrative Service Center has recorded an increasing number of people coming to carry out administrative procedures, showing the consensus and positive response from the grassroots level.

Following the implementation of the two-tiered local government model, the workload at the Bac Gianh Ward Public Administrative Service Center has increased significantly. Each day, the center receives and processes a large number of applications, particularly those related to land, digital transformation, personal information verification, and online public services.

In reality, many people find it difficult to schedule time to complete procedures during office hours due to busy production, business, or working far from home. Meanwhile, land procedures often require thorough guidance to avoid errors and multiple document submissions. Understanding the aspirations and needs of the people, the People's Committee of Bac Gianh Ward has developed and implemented the model "Saturday: Dedicated Government - Convenient for the People".

According to the model, every Saturday, the staff and officials of the ward are present at the Public Administrative Service Center to receive, guide, and assist people in carrying out administrative procedures. The model has brought joy to the people as they are welcomed, guided, and have their administrative procedures resolved even on weekends.

In addition to processing applications, officials also dedicate significant time to advising on land-related procedures within the commune's jurisdiction; assisting with the installation and use of the VNeID application; and implementing digital transformation initiatives.

On Saturday, May 30th, Ms. Trinh Thi Xuan, from Me Hoi residential area, came to the Public Administrative Service Center of Bac Gianh ward to complete her family's land registration documents. She stated that her family's documents contained many specific and detailed instructions, and previously, completing administrative procedures required scheduling work during the week and multiple trips. Now, with the addition of Saturdays, the process has become much more convenient.

“Here, I received very dedicated and thoughtful guidance from the officials. This is a very practical model that greatly benefits the people. We are very grateful to the local government for implementing this model,” Ms. Xuan shared.

Positive feedback from citizens is clear evidence of the initial effectiveness of the model. Not only does it reduce time pressure for citizens, but extending service hours also contributes to improving the quality of administrative procedures, limiting the number of applications requiring multiple revisions due to insufficient guidance.

To maintain the model's operation, many officials and civil servants have voluntarily dedicated their weekends to assisting the people. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, an official at the center, said that although the workload has increased, everyone considers it a responsibility and a joy to serve the people better.

"On this day, officials have more time to provide detailed guidance on each application and answer specific questions. As a result, people understand the regulations better, prepare their applications more thoroughly, and this contributes to speeding up the administrative procedures," Ms. Huong shared.

Without the pressure to process applications quickly during peak hours like on weekdays, officials have the opportunity to discuss each case in detail, especially land-related documents which involve numerous specialized regulations and paperwork. This is also one of the important goals of the model: using citizen satisfaction as a measure of service quality.

According to Tran Ngoc Huong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Gianh Ward, the choice of Saturday stems from the desire to serve the people most effectively. Saturdays are usually free of meetings, conferences, or other professional activities, so officials can fully concentrate on assisting the people. We dedicate more time to listening, guiding, and resolving the people's requests. After two weeks of implementation, more people have become aware of the model, and the number of people visiting the center has also increased.

In the coming time, the locality will continue to maintain and improve the effectiveness of the model, while also researching and expanding support content to suit the actual needs of the people. Through specific and practical actions, Bac Gianh ward is gradually realizing the goal of building a government that accompanies, supports, and serves the people with the highest sense of responsibility.
