MediaTek recently unveiled the Dimensity 9400 chip, but recent reports indicate that an improved version is under development. The new chip, codenamed Dimensity 9400+, boasts incredibly powerful performance.
Specifically, leaker Digital Chat Station revealed that the Dimensity 9400+ is expected to launch in March of this year. This leaker also stated that Oppo will launch three flagship models in the first half of this year with screen sizes of 6.3 inches, 6.6 inches, and 6.8 inches, all three models will use the Dimensity 9400+ chip.

According to a Weibo post, the Dimensity 9400+ is essentially a slightly overclocked version of the Dimensity 9400. Currently, the Dimensity 9400 has a super core X925 that reaches a maximum speed of 3.63 GHz. On the other hand, the Dimensity 9400+ will reach a clock speed of up to 3.7 GHz.
These are just minor improvements in specifications, but it's seen as MediaTek's answer to Qualcomm's overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
Reportedly, Qualcomm's latest high-end processor runs at a clock speed of 4.32 GHz, and with sufficient cooling, that frequency can reach 4.57 GHz, allowing it to reach new peaks in single-core performance.
Combining these advancements with manufacturers' rapid adoption suggests that the Dimensity 9400+ could set a new benchmark for high-end chipsets.
Typically, there isn't much difference between the regular and Plus versions of MediaTek's flagship chips. Therefore, users can expect the upcoming Dimensity 9400+ to follow a similar model. The CPU architecture will be an Arm Cortex-X925 at 3.7 GHz, an Arm Cortex-X4 with 1MB L2 cache, and an Arm Cortex-A720 with 512KB L2 cache.
