Hanoi FC becomes the first team in V-League to fire head coach

At 7:15 p.m. on September 20, the capital derby between Hanoi FC and The Cong Viettel in round 4 of V-League 2025-2026 will take place at Hang Day Stadium (FPT Play). In this match, Hanoi FC will play under the leadership of a new coach - Mr. Yusuke Adachi, born in 1961, a Japanese expert.

Coach Adachi is highly regarded for his expertise, has a lot of coaching experience, understands Vietnamese football and has started working with the Hang Day team since June 2025. He is expected to help Hanoi FC find its first victory in the 2025-2026 season.

The "purple shirt" team has just received 3 defeats and 1 draw in 4 matches played this season. In which, captain Nguyen Van Quyet and his teammates lost in 2 capital derby matches, respectively against Hanoi Police Club and The Cong Viettel .

The defeat against The Cong Viettel caused Hanoi FC to be eliminated from the first round of the 2025-2026 National Cup, thereby causing coach Teguramori to be fired. During the period of declining performance, Hanoi FC's attacking style became dull and ineffective, conceding up to 7 goals in tournaments.

The reason for Hanoi FC’s poor start to the season lies in their player purchases and squad strengthening ahead of the new season. After parting ways with a number of key players, the capital club continues to utilize veterans and promote young players to the first team.

In addition, the slow pace of foreign players in getting into the rhythm of the team also caused the tactical operation of Hanoi FC to stumble. Of the 3 goals since the beginning of the season, only one foreign player scored. Low attacking efficiency is the reason why Hanoi FC is in the bottom 4 teams, with only 1 point.

The rematch between Hanoi FC and The Cong Viettel in round 4 of V-League 2025-2026 is an opportunity for coach Yusuke Adachi and his team to regain their position as championship candidates. But at the present time, winning against the "soldiers" team is not an easy task.

Van Quyet and Hung Dung are experienced and have the courage to compete, but their physical strength cannot be maintained throughout the match like their juniors. Therefore, to increase the effectiveness of their attacks, Hanoi FC needs to know how to take advantage of the strength of foreign players.

In addition, striker Pham Tuan Hai needs to find his scoring touch again. The 27-year-old striker used to be among the top scorers in Vietnam but has not opened his "account" this season.

In the attack of Hanoi FC, Tuan Hai is a mainstay, responsible for scoring goals and taking on the role of his teammates. However, statistics of the 4 matches played show that he missed many opportunities, making the home team "thirsty" for victory.

Taking place on the same day, PVF-CAND will welcome Da Nang Club at 6:00 p.m., and host Thanh Hoa will face Hai Phong Club at 6:00 p.m.
