Find balance again.

According to Mr. Vo Thai Lam, a business development support expert in Ho Chi Minh City, within the framework of the 10X VALUE project - building high-value, transferable businesses - the training programs for more than 200 businesses with annual revenues exceeding 100 billion VND have seen a significant change in the way they choose their training venues.

In August 2025, Mr. Lam took nearly 20 businesspeople to Tam Hai island commune (formerly Quang Nam province) on a training and relaxation trip. In the mornings, the participants meditated on the rocky outcrops along the coast and walked slowly on the sand to maintain focus on their breathing.

In the afternoon, discussions on business strategy took place in an open space, amidst the sound of waves and the sea breeze. "When surrounded by nature, the mind easily calms down. Therefore, students absorb knowledge more easily and have more insightful thoughts about their work," Mr. Lam shared.

According to Mr. Lam, spaces close to nature are seen as a way for business owners and senior management to temporarily step back, relax, and approach work more calmly.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thuy, owner of a chain of beauty salons in Ho Chi Minh City and a participant in the training trip in Tam Hai, said: “The trip brought many memorable experiences. We had time to access new knowledge about business management while also relaxing in a fresh natural environment. Meditation sessions by the beach or conversations on the sand made everyone feel more relaxed and open.”

It's not just businesspeople who seek out tranquil spaces. In recent years, many young people have also begun choosing short trips to pristine natural areas to rebalance their lives.

Sustainable ecological development

Given the growing demand for nature-based resorts, many localities in Da Nang are orienting their development towards ecotourism alongside landscape preservation. Coastal forests, western mountainous areas, and rivers flowing through rural villages are considered important ecological assets that need to be exploited cautiously to ensure a balance between economic development and environmental protection.

Mr. Pham Thanh Tung, an expert consultant and designer of ecotourism and agricultural tourism, believes that the growing interest in wellness tourism reflects a changing perception of health and mental well-being. After decades of economic development and industrialization, the need for both physical and mental health care is increasingly valued.

“Wellness tourism is not simply a vacation. It's a journey to help people restore their life energy. In well-preserved ecological spaces, tourists can hike in the forest, meditate, breathe fresh air, and enjoy clean food. These seemingly simple experiences have great value for health in today's stressful modern life,” Mr. Tung commented.

Over the years, Mr. Tung has been involved in supporting the development of ecotourism in Dai Binh fruit village (Nong Son commune) and currently serves as an advisor, designer, and organizer of the "Legend of Ngoc Linh Ginseng" experiential tour in Tra Tap commune. This journey takes tourists to explore the southwestern mountainous region of Quang Nam province with many nature-related activities such as hiking through the forest, learning about local medicinal herbs, and experiencing cloud hunting at Tak Po - a place that has recently become well-known.

According to Mr. Tung, tourism models linked to nature need to be built on the foundation of ecosystem conservation and respect for the rhythm of life of the local community. When nature is preserved, these ecological areas will become long-term destinations for those seeking tranquility.

“Untouched beaches, misty forest paths, and high mountain regions where clouds drift slowly are gradually becoming spaces for leisurely journeys. There, simply walking on a trail or sitting quietly by the sea in the early morning, visitors can clearly feel the peace and find their balance,” Mr. Tung said.
