This is a new form of the "peaceful evolution" strategy on the ideological and informational front; it "softens" the methods of sabotage but is more dangerous due to its camouflage and ability to infiltrate deep into social life. Therefore, correctly identifying its nature and resolutely combating this tactic is an urgent requirement today.

When the "righteousness" ploy is exploited.

In recent years, the work of Party building and rectification; inspection, supervision, and enforcement of Party discipline have been intensified with very high political determination. Many major cases have been investigated, prosecuted, and tried rigorously; many officials, including high-ranking officials under the management of the Central Committee, who violated regulations have been strictly punished according to Party regulations and State laws. This not only demonstrates the spirit of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions" in the fight against corruption, waste, and negative phenomena, but also affirms the self-renewal and self-rectification capabilities of the ruling Party.

However, it is precisely this determination that hostile forces seek to exploit to distort and undermine the system. A noteworthy point is that the methods of sabotage have changed significantly. Previously, the subversive rhetoric was often direct and extremist, for example, by openly denying the Party's leadership role and the State's effectiveness based on the misconduct of some officials. Now, these individuals proactively cloak themselves in the guise of "patriots," "truth-tellers," and "people's fighters" to deepen public resentment over corruption, aiming to lead social perceptions in an extremist direction and ultimately erode public trust.

According to Associate Professor and Doctor Vu Dinh Dac (Political Officer Training School), reactionary elements and political opportunists understand that open calls for opposition are unlikely to have a widespread impact on society. Therefore, instead of direct confrontation, they choose to infiltrate social life under the guise of "joining forces to fight corruption," thereby gradually leading public opinion in a misleading direction.

The danger of this tactic lies in its sophisticated camouflage. A blatant attack is usually easy to identify and refute; but when information is labeled as "accompanying," many people are easily lulled into a false sense of security. These individuals often don't directly assert facts but instead "raise questions"; they don't draw clear conclusions but "suggest inferences"; they don't openly distort the truth but use ambiguous language to incite public sentiment. They understand that by sowing doubt, social trust will gradually erode.

Dr. Le Thi Chien ( Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy) argues that the underlying goal of these tactics is to create a sense of social "utter gloom," that "nothing is trustworthy anymore," thereby fostering pessimism and disorientation among a segment of the population. This is a dangerous method of sabotage because it directly impacts the spiritual foundation of society.

To further clarify this issue, many experts and scientists at the Political Officer Training School, such as Associate Professor Dr. Le Duy Thang, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Cuong, and Dr. Nguyen Van Tuong, cited examples from around the world showing that many socio-political crises begin with information warfare, with the poisoning of public perception, severing social trust before open conflict occurs. This is also the essence of the "peaceful evolution" strategy: destroying from within by shaking the ideology, beliefs, and social awareness.

You can't use the guise of "fighting corruption" to sabotage others.

It must be clearly stated that the fight against corruption, waste, and negative phenomena is a consistent policy of our Party and State aimed at building a clean and strong political system and consolidating the people's trust in the Party and the regime. However, hostile and reactionary forces and political opportunists deliberately use the guise of "fighting negativity" to undermine the revolutionary cause of our Party and people. This is an especially dangerous tactic.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Do Ngoc Hanh and Dr. Le Tuan Anh (Political Officer Training School): Combating the tactic of using the guise of "fighting corruption" to mislead public opinion requires a comprehensive, resolute, and vigilant approach across all aspects: awareness, communication, and law. The most important thing is to first expose the political nature of the rhetoric disguised under the banner of "fighting corruption." In reality, these individuals often employ very sophisticated conceptual manipulation: They shift from "fighting corruption" to denying the entire system; they criticize the wrongdoings of an individual and attribute it to the very nature of the entire system.

In this context, according to many scientists, revolutionary journalism must maintain its leading role on the information and ideological front. If official information is delayed, lacks depth, or is unconvincing, the information gap can easily be exploited by malicious actors to manipulate public opinion. Therefore, official journalism must provide information quickly, accurately, and with a strong guiding principle; at the same time, it must improve the quality of political commentary and increase its fighting capacity on the ideological front. Refuting false arguments must be based on rigorous reasoning, authentic evidence, and a resolute, unwavering, and ambiguous approach to the struggle.

Furthermore, special attention must be paid to building "cognitive resilience" in society against increasingly sophisticated information manipulation tactics. In the digital age, each citizen is not only a recipient but can also become a disseminator of information. Therefore, improving the ability to identify fake news, harmful and toxic information, and the skills to verify information are crucial requirements. Besides the ideological and media struggle, legal action must also be carried out rigorously. Intentional fabrication, slander, distortion, incitement to sabotage, and causing public panic under the guise of "fighting corruption" must be severely punished according to the law. This rigor aims to protect the truth, safeguard a healthy information environment, and maintain political and social stability.

In the current struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation, hostile forces are increasingly employing more subtle, sophisticated, and well-disguised tactics. Using the guise of "fighting corruption" to mislead public opinion is one such dangerous tactic. Accurately identifying the true nature of these tactics, maintaining steadfastness amidst the chaotic flow of information, and resolutely combating these "false banners" is not only a requirement of awareness but also a political responsibility of every cadre, Party member, and patriotic citizen.
