The deadline for collecting tolls on the Dien Chau expressway has been set.

Fees will officially start being charged from January 5, 2025.

On the afternoon of December 31, 2024, in an interview with a reporter from Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet, General Director of Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company (the project enterprise), stated: “The company has sent a notice regarding the implementation of toll collection for investment recovery of the Dien Chau – Bai Vot section under the BOT form to relevant agencies and units.”

From 00:00 on January 5, 2025, the Dien Chau – Bai Vot expressway will officially begin collecting tolls.

Accordingly, the Dien Chau – Bai Vot section of the Dien Chau – Bai Vot section, part of the project to build several expressways on the Eastern North-South route in the 2017-2020 period, has been completed and put into temporary operation from Km 430+000 – Km 458+796 (QL46B intersection) from April 30, 2024.

The remaining section, from the intersection with National Highway 46B to the end of the route (intersection with National Highway 8A), will be put into operation from June 30, 2024.

The opening of the entire route on June 30, 2024, has promptly served the convenient and safe travel needs of the people over the past eight months, especially during the holidays of April 30 and May 1, and National Day on September 2, 2024.

To date, the project has provided free and safe transportation services for approximately 3.5 million vehicles.

On December 27, 2024, the State Council for Inspection of Construction Project Acceptance held a meeting to inspect the acceptance process and unanimously approved the investor's conditional acceptance results for the project.

Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company (DNDA), the investor of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway component project, announces that from 0:00 on January 5, 2025, the project will officially collect tolls to recover investment capital as stipulated in the BOT contract signed with the Ministry of Transport .

Toll collection is non-stop, with no barriers or fences.

Currently, the Dien Chau – Bai Vot expressway has four toll stations: the toll station at Km 430+500 (located in Dien Cat commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province); the toll station at the Nghi Phuong intersection (National Highway 7C, also known as N5, located in Nghi Phuong commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province); the toll station at the Q46B intersection (located in Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province); and the toll station at the National Highway 8A intersection (located in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province).

The Dien Chau – Bai Vot expressway will be managed and operated using an Intelligent Transport System (ITS) ecosystem, synchronously integrated across the route, tunnel, and electronic toll collection (ETC) systems.

Regarding the toll station, this is a multi-zero toll station system: no barriers at the entrance, no toll booths, and vehicles do not have to stop.

Electronic toll collection systems will help drivers save time, reduce congestion, and save fuel. Meanwhile, the agency operating the route will be able to streamline the workforce working on the road.

Furthermore, the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) on the route is also the most modern system currently available, utilizing integrated AI technology with many specialized features.

The Dien Chau – Bai Vot Expressway is one of 11 component projects under the North-South Expressway Eastern section, Phase I (2017-2020), and one of 3 component projects invested under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

The project has a total length of over 50km, passing through 2 provinces: Nghe An (44.4km) and Ha Tinh (4.9km), with a total investment of 11,157 billion VND.

The project commenced in May 2021 and has now been officially inspected and put into operation.
