Checking the damage to rice and crops in Hoa Trach commune. Photo: TH |
Due to the impact of storm No. 5, the whole province had over 2,100 hectares of rice damaged, fallen, and flooded; about 61.6 hectares of upland crops such as corn, peanuts, beans, etc. were affected; about 1,500 rubber trees in Bo Trach commune were broken, fallen, etc.
During the inspection, the working group members directed localities to promptly drain the flooded rice fields. For rice fields that are over 80% ripe, take advantage of favorable weather conditions to speed up the harvest with the motto "better at home than in the fields" to minimize damage. For rice fields that are in the stage of drying, milky ripening, and waxy ripening, people are advised to prop up fallen rice fields by tying 3-5 rice stalks together to help the plants recover quickly and promote grain formation... For upland crops, depending on the level of impact, appropriate solutions will be found to care for and restore the fields to minimize damage.
