Overview of the conference summarizing the tasks of 2024 and implementing the tasks of 2025 of Road Management Area I.
Notably, last year, the northern provinces under this agency's management experienced 4 typhoons, 1 tropical depression, and 6 periods of heavy rain, causing significant damage to people and property. In particular, Typhoon No. 3 ( Yagi ) caused severe damage to both lives and property.
Numerous landslides have occurred on the uphill slopes (entire hillsides) involving tens of thousands of cubic meters of soil and rocks, and many landslides have also occurred on the downhill slopes, causing road closures and paralyzing traffic on national highways and expressways...
The regional leaders went directly to the scene to provide close guidance from early on and from afar, mobilizing resources to promptly and effectively implement measures to respond to the storms and floods.
"In a short time, the national highways and expressways in the area under the management of the Zone were reopened to traffic, serving the rescue efforts of the local government and ministries in accessing and mitigating the consequences of the natural disaster," Mr. Tuan Anh informed.
In traffic safety work and vehicle load inspection, the area currently only manages and monitors data from vehicle weight control equipment at Km78 of National Highway 5, Hai Phong city, and extracts data monthly to report to the Vietnam Road Administration.
Statistics from weigh stations from January 1st to November 18th (Hanoi - Hai Phong route) show a total of 1,126,392 vehicles weighed, of which 49,180 vehicles violated regulations, representing 4.36% of the total number of violating vehicles.
