The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the heads of departments, agencies, and the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities to learn from the experience of responding to Typhoon No. 3 and the subsequent rain and floods in the northern provinces, and to continue to fully implement the directives of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the directives of the Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee in the relevant Directives.

The Chairman of the District People's Committee is fully responsible for implementing flood and storm prevention and control measures, as well as responding to landslides, hillside erosion, and urban flooding within their jurisdiction; and for promptly updating weather information to provide appropriate guidance.

Proactively inspect and review residential areas, houses, and offices of agencies and units in the area (especially in mountainous areas) located in high-risk landslide and flash flood zones, and develop early and specific plans to ensure the safety of people in the area; proactively monitor the developments of natural disasters closely and promptly relocate and evacuate people in the area to safe places.

The districts of Ba To, Minh Long, Son Ha, Son Tay, and Tra Bong are to review and compile a complete and detailed list of high-risk areas for landslides and flash floods, as well as geological fault lines within their areas, and send this information to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for compilation and reporting to the Provincial People's Committee. Coordinate and direct the Quang Ngai Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited, and the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities to inspect and review water reservoirs, especially those that have deteriorated or been damaged, and to implement solutions to ensure safety during the 2024 rainy and stormy season.

Recently, several areas in Quang Ngai province have experienced cracks in the hillsides and mountain slopes, posing a high risk of landslides. Some of these areas have already suffered serious landslides, affecting many households, such as Van Ca Vai mountain (Di Lang town, Son Ha district) and Dak Dep residential area (Son Mau commune, Son Tay district).

According to the Quang Ngai Meteorological and Hydrological Station, the natural disaster situation will be very complex in the coming period, and the risk of storms, heavy rain, and floods occurring in the province is very high.

Currently, there are many high-risk areas in the province prone to landslides and flash floods during rainfall, posing a threat to residents, especially in mountainous districts. Additionally, heavy rains have caused localized flooding in Quang Ngai City and some densely populated areas.
