VFF President holds important FIFA position

According to a document sent to VFF, FIFA said the appointment decision was approved by the FIFA Council at the meeting on October 2, 2025, and affirmed that it will support and create favorable conditions for Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan to successfully complete his work in his new position.

The FIFA National Team Competitions Committee is responsible for advising and consulting the FIFA Council in strategic planning, organizing and operating important international tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup, FIFA U20 World Cup, FIFA U17 World Cup and tournaments within the FIFA system.

VFF President appointed as Head of AFC Delegation at 2024 AFC U23 Championship

VHO - Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), was honored to be appointed by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) as Head of the AFC Delegation at the AFC U23 Championship Finals, taking place in Doha (Qatar).

Currently, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan is also holding many important positions in continental and regional football organizations, including: Member of the Standing Committee of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Chairman of the Competition Committee of AFC and AFF, and Member of the AFC Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023-2027 term.

Most recently, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan was trusted by AFC to be the Head of the Executive Committee of the 2026 Asian Games men's football in Nagoya (Japan).

In addition to the decision to appoint Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan to participate in the FIFA National Team Competition Committee, VFF also has 2 other representatives appointed to participate in FIFA's professional committees.

Among them, Secretary General Nguyen Van Phu - FIFA Medical Department, Deputy Secretary General Nguyen Thanh Ha - FIFA Women's Football Department and before that, Ms. Nguyen Thi My Dung - Member of FIFA Disciplinary Committee, arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), member of the Disciplinary Council of the World Athletics Federation, Member of the AFC Complaints Resolution Board, Deputy Head of the VFF Licensing Board.

The fact that Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan and VFF representatives were trusted to hold roles in FIFA has continued to affirm the prestige and position of VFF as well as Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan personally in the international football system.

This is also an important milestone, contributing to enhancing the image of Vietnamese football in the international arena and creating more opportunities to contribute to the general development of world football.
