Functions and tasks of the Working Group
The Working Group has the function and task of researching and proposing to the Government, the Prime Minister, the Government's Steering Committee on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06 to implement the tasks of Project 06; urging tasks related to administrative procedure reform and digital transformation associated with Project 06 nationwide.
This Decision takes effect from the date of signing and promulgation (May 15, 2025).
On January 6, 2022, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision 06/QD-TTg approving the Project on developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the 2022-2025 period, with a vision to 2030 (Project 06).
The overall objective of the Project is to apply the National Population Database, electronic identification and authentication system, and electronic chip-embedded Citizen Identification Cards in the national digital transformation process in a flexible and creative manner in accordance with the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030, to serve 5 groups of utilities: 1- Serving administrative procedure settlement and providing online public services; 2- Serving socio-economic development; 3- Serving digital citizens; 4- Completing the ecosystem serving connection, exploitation, supplementation and enrichment of population data; 5- Serving the direction and administration of leaders at all levels.
