Within the framework of the program, many practical activities were brought to the people in localities of Hue City by officers and soldiers of Coast Guard Region 2, such as: Offering incense and flowers at the Martyrs' Memorial; organizing the "I Love My Homeland's Sea and Islands" contest; disseminating information on the Vietnam Coast Guard Law and laws on drug prevention and control, regulations on combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing; giving gifts to fishermen's families and ethnic minority families in difficult circumstances; and promoting and encouraging people, especially ethnic minorities in the area, to abandon outdated customs, preserve and promote ethnic cultural identity, build united villages, and help each other develop economically ...

On this occasion, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command presented 100 gifts to disadvantaged families, fishermen, and ethnic minorities (50 policy beneficiary households and fishermen in Phong Quang ward and 50 ethnic minority households in Long Quang commune); donated 50 portraits of President Ho Chi Minh, 100 national flags, and distributed 200 leaflets disseminating legal knowledge, contact information for rescue at sea, and crime reporting... to the people and fishermen.

Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2, said: Through organizing the "Coast Guard accompanying fishermen" and "Coast Guard with ethnic and religious communities" programs in some localities in Hue City, the unit hopes to continue contributing to raising the awareness and responsibility of the people regarding the task of managing and protecting maritime sovereignty and complying with maritime laws. This will contribute to strengthening the bond between the military and the people, supporting and assisting fishermen to confidently go out to sea, maintain their livelihoods, and develop the economy in conjunction with building a national defense and people's security posture at sea...

It is understood that the Coast Guard Region 2's public relations program in Hue City this time is also one of the practical activities to celebrate the 6th Congress of the Vietnam Coast Guard Party Committee, term 2025-2030. The program aims to leverage the combined strength in disseminating, educating, and promoting legal awareness among the people; fostering love for the homeland, country, and the sea and islands of the Fatherland among all segments of the population; and simultaneously raising the awareness and responsibility of officers, soldiers, and local Party committees, authorities, and socio-political organizations regarding public relations work. Through this, it contributes to consolidating and strengthening the close relationship between the military and the people, creating a combined strength to firmly protect the sovereignty, security, and safety of the Fatherland's sea and island areas.
