Life and career stories: Beautiful Vietnamese language

Up to now, Beautiful Vietnamese has reached 11 titles and has been continuously reprinted in recent times. For example , From Wrong Sentences to Good Sentences by Professor Nguyen Duc Dan has been reprinted for the 9th time, and In Search of Vietnamese Identity by Associate Professor Trinh Sam has been reprinted for the 4th time... Author Trinh Sam shared that the most special point in his work is that in the 4 printings, the content of the book is not kept the same but is always updated to be as close to reality as possible, even the latest version does not retain anything from the first printing. That shows that Vietnamese is always adapting, changing to go along with the life of Vietnamese people. This is also affirmed by Associate Professor Tran Thi Ngoc Lang - author of Southern Vietnamese - when she showed how the Southern dialect has changed over the past 5 centuries under the influence of natural geographical conditions as well as socio-cultural conditions.

At the seminar, the beauty of the Vietnamese language was also analyzed by the speakers and presented extremely interesting evidence. Journalist Le Minh Quoc - whose latest book title is "Vietnamese is tricky and elegant" in this series - affirmed that loanwords, even though they come from different regions, when accepted and used by Vietnamese people, will always be influenced by the psychology and personality of Vietnamese people, thereby forming new words that are far different from the original. Also agreeing with Professor Nguyen Duc Dan, he analyzed the special beauty and lessons in the treasure trove of folk songs and proverbs that generations have passed on to each other. In addition, journalist Duong Thanh Truyen - author of the title "Love songs of our language" - also mentioned the ways of playing with words by saying them backwards, forwards, inverting words, and adding words... which are increasingly popular among the younger generation, thereby contributing to affirming that Vietnamese is very beautiful and very rich, which sometimes we do not realize because we are familiar with it.
