Digital transformation expands the tourism landscape.

Amidst the powerful wave of digital transformation, Thai Nguyen's tourism industry is gradually innovating its methods of promoting and introducing destinations and enhancing the visitor experience. Digital transformation not only expands opportunities to access markets but also contributes to bringing the image of the "land of the finest tea" closer to domestic and international tourists.

Following the trend of promoting tourism on digital platforms, many destinations in Thai Nguyen are proactively innovating their approach to tourists through images, videos , and online media channels. Dung Tan Eco-tourism Area is one of the outstanding destinations, boasting a vast green space of approximately 30 hectares with thousands of meticulously shaped ornamental trees, along with a harmonious system of miniature landscapes, rock gardens, and ecological lakes. With a focus on sustainable development, in 2024, Dung Tan Co., Ltd. was awarded two prizes by the Vietnam Tourism Association: “Outstanding Eco-tourism Destination” and “Green Label Tourism Destination,” affirming the destination's attractiveness and quality in the modern tourism trend.

Alongside investing in landscaping, the company is also promoting the area on digital platforms to spread the image of green, environmentally friendly tourism to a wide range of tourists from within and outside the province. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Deputy Director of Dung Tan Co., Ltd., said: "The intensified promotion on digital platforms has helped bring the image of Dung Tan Eco-tourism Area closer to tourists from within and outside the province, thereby increasing its reach and attracting more and more tourists to visit and experience it."

In recent times, many tourist areas and destinations in Thai Nguyen have been gradually changing their promotional mindset. Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, Director of the May Suon Dong Cooperative in La Bang commune, believes that digital media has helped those involved in community tourism change their approach to the profession. Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai shared: "Previously, we mainly received tourists through word-of-mouth or direct connections with tour groups. But now, with just a beautiful post or an authentic experience video, tourists can find us on their own. Locals in the village are also gradually learning to film videos, take photos, and promote tea products and homestays on social media."

In order to attract tourists, Thai Nguyen province has implemented many digital transformation solutions associated with tourism development, including strengthening the application of digital technology, information technology, and other applications serving tourism development such as online booking and online payment applications... suitable to the local reality.

Mr. Nguyen Chu Thu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: Thai Nguyen aims to build an image of a friendly, modern destination while still retaining its rich local cultural identity. Therefore, the province is gradually forming a synchronized digital media ecosystem for the tourism industry. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will focus on building a digital database of destinations, while also promoting tourism on multiple platforms to spread the image of Thai Nguyen tourism to a wide range of domestic and international tourists...

During the period 2026-2030, Thai Nguyen province plans to mobilize various resources to implement key digital transformation projects in the tourism sector. Specifically, the province will allocate approximately 15 billion VND to digitize tourist areas and attractions and build a province-wide tourism database; invest approximately 10 billion VND in developing mobile applications to serve tourists, provide online tourism products, and install camera systems at tourist areas and attractions; and allocate approximately 5 billion VND to build a toolkit for identifying and promoting the Thai Nguyen tourism brand.

In addition, the province continues to effectively implement the Smart Tourism Development Project, focusing on building the Thai Nguyen electronic tourism portal to serve state management, support business activities of enterprises, and meet the needs of tourists for information and experiences.

The increased application of digital technology in destination management and promotion, and the development of digital tourism maps, is expected to create a strong transformation, gradually making Thai Nguyen a friendly, modern, and attractive destination on the Vietnamese tourism map.
