Applying technology to serve passengers.
The application of information technology is being strongly implemented by the Public Transport Management Center with the goal of increasing the efficiency of bus management and operation; while also helping passengers easily access information and be more proactive in their travel.
According to observations by reporters from Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio & Television, bus stops in many locations such as in front of Dong Nai General Hospital, Dong Nai Bus Station, Bien Hung Park, etc., have been equipped with electronic information boards (LED boards). These boards display the route and estimated arrival time of buses at the stop, helping people reduce waiting time and feel more secure when using buses.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (a resident of Tam Hiep ward) said: “For more than 5 years, I have always chosen the bus as my means of transportation whenever I go for medical check-ups, shopping, or visiting friends and relatives... Thanks to the electronic information board at the bus stop, I can easily know the bus arrival time and don't have to wait as long as before. Traveling by bus is now much more convenient and safer.”
Recently, many passengers, especially young people, students, and university students, have been using the Dong Nai Bus app to book rides for convenience. Sharing her experience with the Dong Nai Bus app, Ms. Lam Bao Ngoc, a fourth-year student at Lac Hong University (in Tran Bien ward), said: “I used to take buses to school or to hang out with friends. Since installing the Dong Nai Bus app, I know the exact bus route and arrival time at the stop, so I don't have to wait long. Taking the bus is both safe and cost-effective.”
With multiple information channels, people can easily access information.
According to Phan Hong Quang, Deputy Director of the Public Transport Management Center: In implementing information technology in the management and operation of public transport, the center has been utilizing the Information System for managing and operating public transport by bus. Using this software, people using buses can access various information channels about bus passenger transport operations. Passengers can know the exact routes and arrival times of buses to catch them conveniently, and they can also promptly report information related to the operation and management of public transport to relevant authorities.
Specifically, when using the Dong Nai Bus app, passengers can access information related to bus operations updated by the management agency; access information about routes, directions, and fares for bus lines; search for directions to destinations, bus stops, and the nearest bus stops; and report issues regarding quality and ask questions to relevant authorities.
The website https://dongnai.ttgt.vn allows people to read articles related to bus operations in the province; access information about routes, directions, and fares for bus lines; and submit feedback on service quality and questions to relevant authorities. The Bus Dong Nai fanpage also allows people to read articles related to bus operations in the province and submit feedback on service quality and questions to relevant authorities.
“The center has also implemented a chatbox application on Facebook Messenger, through which passengers can easily access information about the bus route they need to take. At the same time, through the management software system, the center can quickly receive feedback from the public, thereby making timely adjustments to improve the quality of service and the efficiency of public transport management,” Mr. Quang said.
In the coming period, Dong Nai province will continue to improve the efficiency of exploiting the Information System for managing and operating public transport by bus. At the same time, it will strengthen propaganda and guidance for people to use the Dong Nai Bus application. Dong Nai will also focus on improving the quality of bus operations, striving to implement a green transition roadmap using electric buses in a convenient, high-quality, and safe manner, contributing to reducing traffic congestion and accidents, ensuring environmental protection and urban aesthetics.

In addition, the center installed 10 electronic information boards (LED boards) at 10 bus stops in the old Bien Hoa city area (in front of the following locations: the Department of Finance, Bien Hoa Market Park, the Provincial Children's House, Guest House 71, Bien Hung Park, Ngo Quyen High School, Tran Hung Dao Junior High School, Co.opmart Bien Hoa, Dong Nai General Hospital, and Dong Nai Bus Station). These LED boards are installed to provide information about public transportation by bus in the province, making it easier for people to use this mode of transport.
According to Mr. Quang, nearly 30,000 people have downloaded the Dong Nai Bus app to date. Through the Dong Nai Bus app, the website https://dongnai.ttgt.vn, and the Dong Nai Bus fanpage, the Center disseminates information about passenger transport by bus in the province to residents and passengers, encouraging people to use buses more often.
