Vietcombank is a partner and co-organizer of the event.

In his opening remarks at the competition, Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Union, and Head of the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the competition, emphasized: Digital transformation is becoming an inevitable trend, an important driving force for promoting economic growth, improving labor productivity and national competitiveness.
For the banking industry, one of the pioneering sectors in applying science and technology and innovation, digital transformation is not only an objective requirement but also a strategic task aimed at building a modern, safe, and transparent financial ecosystem.
Over the past period, under the leadership of the Party, the Government, and the State Bank of Vietnam, the entire banking sector has actively implemented many synchronized solutions to promote comprehensive digital transformation, perfect the legal framework, develop digital infrastructure, expand cashless payments, apply artificial intelligence, big data, electronic identification, and many modern technologies in banking operations. Credit institutions, fintech companies, and units within the industry have proactively innovated governance models, enhanced customer experience, and built a digital culture throughout the system.

In this context, the Trade Union of the Banking Sector has always defined its role not only as representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of its members and employees, but also as always accompanying and working closely with the professional departments in fulfilling the political tasks of the sector.
Trade unions at all levels have actively propagated and mobilized union members and workers to raise awareness about digital transformation; launched many emulation movements, innovative initiatives, and the application of technology in work; and encouraged a spirit of learning, innovation, and adaptation to new development requirements. The close collaboration between trade unions and professional departments has contributed to creating a synergistic strength, promoting the digital transformation process throughout the industry more strongly and effectively.
The 2026 "Digital Transformation in the Banking Industry" competition is organized as a learning forum to raise awareness, standardize knowledge, and develop digital capabilities for staff and union members. The competition aims to equip participants with digital transformation knowledge and widely disseminate digital skills throughout the industry, helping each individual not only master technology and business processes but also apply them flexibly in practice, thereby optimizing the operational efficiency of each unit.
At the same time, this is also a professional platform for competing teams to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and innovative spirit; to exchange, learn, share experiences, and spread good models and practical solutions to serve the digital transformation process throughout the banking industry.

This year's competition brings together 32 teams with nearly 700 contestants from trade unions, credit institutions, and fintech companies across the industry, who will compete in three rounds: "Combining Strength," "Conquering the Digital Age," and "Creating the Digital Future."
In particular, the "Creating the Digital Future" competition is expected to generate many innovative ideas and solutions related to practical banking operations, contributing to improved management efficiency, optimized business processes, and the development of digital banking in the future.
It is noteworthy that immediately after its launch, the competition received a strong response from higher-level trade unions, grassroots trade unions, and units throughout the industry. Many units proactively organized internal competitions, built online platforms, launched movements to learn and understand digital transformation knowledge, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere and spreading the spirit of proactive learning, innovation, and adaptation to the digital age throughout the entire system.

Through this competition, the banking sector hopes to continue spreading the "Digital Literacy Movement," gradually building digital thinking, digital culture, and a spirit of innovation in each official, union member, and employee. This affirms its determination to be a pioneer in implementing national digital transformation, aiming for modern and sustainable development.
