The 2025 Regional Business Conference with the theme “Green transformation: challenges and opportunities for businesses”, focuses on the content of “Energy saving and renewable energy development”, a topical topic, in line with the orientation of developing a circular economy , reducing emissions, adapting to climate change and aiming for green growth goals.
VCCI Vice President Vo Tan Thanh also emphasized that green transformation is an inevitable global trend. The world is strongly shifting towards economic development associated with environmental protection, resource saving, emission reduction and climate change adaptation. New-generation trade agreements, export standards, global supply chains, etc. are all placing increasingly stringent requirements on green and sustainable factors.
For Vietnam, fulfilling the commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 is not only an international obligation but also an opportunity to restructure the economy, innovate the growth model and enhance long-term competitiveness.
VCCI Vice President Vo Tan Thanh spoke at the conference.
Mr. Vo Tan Thanh said that VCCI always sets the goal of supporting green transformation enterprises as one of its key actions, through the development of a set of sustainable enterprise indexes (CSI) and guidelines for application to different industries, including small and medium enterprises.
Connecting businesses with domestic and foreign financial institutions, supporting access to green capital and sustainable investment funds; organizing workshops, training, technical consultation and sharing practical green transformation models in businesses; accompanying businesses in policy dialogue with the Government to build a legal framework, incentives and practical support.
The Central Highlands region is clearly affected by climate change, requiring businesses to be proactive and quick to approach and implement green transformation. VCCI welcomes businesses in the region that have promptly implemented green initiatives - from investing in renewable energy, improving production processes to waste classification, saving water, and applying circular economic models. These steps need to be replicated and spread throughout the business ecosystem.
On this occasion, VCCI Central Highlands also awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of VCCI to 36 enterprises with positive business results and many contributions to VCCI's activities in the region and awarded VCCI membership certificates to 33 new member enterprises.
