The zombie train, provided by Watarase Keikoku Railway Company, runs from Omama Station in Midori City (Gunma Prefecture) to Tsudo Station in Nikko for nine weekend days between June and September. During the 60-minute 90-minute journey, the zombies on board attempt to scare passengers to death. However, not the entire train will be filled with zombies. This event will only take place in the first carriage, which has a capacity of 60 passengers.
Kowagarasetai, the company operating the haunted house in Kiryu City (Gunma Prefecture), is responsible for creating the content and scaring activities on the train. The zombies are expected to be played by volunteers from Gunma Prefectural High School. The Midori and Kiryu city governments are also collaborating on the project.
The fare is 3,500 yen (US$26) for adults and 2,000 yen (US$14) for children. Passengers can book tickets through the railway company's website or by phone.

The Tochigi prefectural government also hopes that train passengers will stop by Ashio, the highest-producing copper mine during the Edo period. Today, the mine is no longer in operation.
