Hanoi Police FC 'ties down' Phan Van Duc

Hanoi Police FC (CAHN) has just extended midfielder Phan Văn Đức's contract for another 3 years.

"Phan Van Duc has officially signed a new contract, continuing his association with the red jersey until 2028 - a testament to the trust, commitment, and determination from both sides in the long-term development strategy," the police force's football team announced on the morning of June 19.

The CAHN club's homepage wrote: "New challenges and aspirations lie ahead. We wish Van Duc continued success, explosive performances, and that he and the club will conquer major milestones in the journey ahead."

Following Doan Van Hau and Vu Van Thanh, Phan Van Duc is the next player to extend his contract with CAHN FC. Van Duc's previous contract was for two years, expiring in July 2025. Towards the end of the season, Duc expressed his intention to find a new club, but was persuaded to stay by CAHN FC's leadership.

By retaining key players like Van Thanh and Van Duc, CAHN Club continues to demonstrate its ambition to compete for the title next season. This also motivates the two players to focus wholeheartedly on the National Cup semi-final (against The Cong - Viettel ) at the end of June, the only competition where the police team still has a chance to win the 2024-2025 season.

Phan Văn Đức, born in 1996 in Nghe An province, is one of the best attacking players in the V-League and the Vietnamese national team during the time when Park Hang Seo was in charge.

When Văn Đức first joined CAHN FC, he suffered an injury and was unable to contribute much to their V-League 2023 championship run. Upon his return in 2024, Đức made his mark with important goals and assists, especially in Southeast Asian competitions, for CAHN FC.

Last year, coach Kim Sang Sik called up Phan Van Duc to the Vietnamese national team for the FIFA Days in September, to play against Russia and Thailand. However, by the end of the year, Van Duc was not fit enough to join the team for the ASEAN Cup 2024.
