71 out of 72 communes have met the criteria for rural commercial infrastructure.

(CT) - According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City, every year localities focus on mobilizing social resources and developing investment plans to upgrade, expand, and build new markets in the area, prioritizing the construction, upgrading, and renovation of markets in new rural communes. Currently, the city has 8 shopping centers and 20 supermarkets. In addition, there are 258 markets, including 11 Class 1 markets, 35 Class 2 markets, 165 Class 3 markets, 39 temporary markets, 5 night markets, and 3 floating markets.

The city has 71 out of 72 communes meeting the criteria for rural commercial infrastructure. The rural market system basically meets the needs for buying, selling, and exchanging goods to serve the lives of people in rural areas. Regarding inspection and guidance, the Management Board and market operating units conduct regular inspections, focusing on ensuring fire safety, environmental hygiene, food safety, and price listing.
