Girl tricked into going to Cambodia, rescued as soon as boarding the plane

Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí23/05/2024

On May 23, Trieu Phong District Police (Quang Tri) informed that a police officer in Trieu Long Commune, Trieu Phong District had just received a letter of thanks from the people for his wholehearted help, support, and rescue of a 17-year-old girl who was lured and tricked into going to Cambodia.

The above police officer is Lieutenant Nguyen Duy, a police officer of Trieu Long commune; the person who wrote the thank you letter is Mr. Nguyen H., residing in Quang Tri town (victim's father).

In the letter, Mr. H. said that on May 9, an acquaintance suddenly discovered his daughter at gate 27 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport (HCMC), so he took a photo and reported the news to the family.

At this time, Mr. H's family just found out that his daughter had run away from home since May 8.

Through the information, Mr. H. knew that his daughter was about to board a flight to Cambodia, so he kept calling her, but her phone number was blocked and she could not be reached. The family also tried to contact the airport but failed. At this time, Mr. H. called Lieutenant Nguyen Duy for help.

Having received the information, Lieutenant Nguyen Duy determined that Mr. H's daughter had likely been lured into a scam. The situation was urgent and the distance was great, so Lieutenant Duy used all his acquaintances and friends to ask for help.

Immediately afterwards, police officers in Ho Chi Minh City quickly arrived at the airport, approached Mr. H's daughter, promptly stopped her, and held her back so her family could contact her.

Despite being advised, the girl still did not cooperate. It was not until Lieutenant Duy talked to her over the phone, convinced her, and clearly analyzed the potential dangers that the young girl realized that she had been tricked and lured to Cambodia.

Lieutenant Nguyen Duy asked his police friend and acquaintance to take the young girl from the airport. Relatives from Quang Tri then went to Ho Chi Minh City to take the girl home safely.

"My family sincerely thanks the police force, Quang Tri Provincial Police for training dedicated, highly professional and enthusiastic officers. Special thanks to Lieutenant Nguyen Duy for enthusiastically helping our family," Mr. H. expressed.

Mr. H. also requested the Quang Tri Provincial Police and other authorities to investigate and punish those who lured, enticed, and tricked his daughter into selling to Cambodia. This would also serve as a lesson for others to be cautious and vigilant.
