Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan (born in 1993) is an English teacher at Le Van Tam Secondary School (Tam My commune). Ms. Kim Loan shared that the above initiative stemmed from the environmental pollution situation at famous landmarks in Tam My commune such as Giang Thom waterfall, Dong Nhon dam, and the risk of decline in the population of the rare gray-footed langur in Hon Do, Hon Ong, Duong Bong, and Duong Ban Lau mountains in Tu My and Tinh Son villages (Tam My commune). Therefore, Ms. Loan incorporated environmental protection and local biodiversity conservation into her English teaching using a learning model.
Based on that foundation, Ms. Loan implemented an environmental education initiative through English with the theme: "From the classroom to the community: Modeling local ecosystems and communicating the conservation of endemic Tam My in English 9 Global Success for a green future."
The novelty of the initiative lies in the combination of linguistic thinking and creative skills: students use recycled materials such as plastic bottles, beer cans, and cardboard to create models of the Tam My natural landscape, while also developing bilingual presentations to spread the message of environmental protection.
Through learning activities closely related to local practices, students are encouraged to use English as a tool for communication, expressing their views, and spreading positive values to the community. This initiative also contributes to the gradual implementation of the Ministry of Education and Training 's plan to make English a second language in schools.

In particular, in response to the "Women Creating a Green Future" competition organized and awarded by the Vietnam Women's Union, Ms. Kim Loan's project excellently made it into the Top 11 outstanding initiatives that received awards. The competition was launched nationwide and attracted 139 projects from 23 provinces and cities. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan's project, "From the Classroom to the Community: Modeling Local Ecosystems and Communicating the Conservation of the Tam My Endemic Species in English 9 Global Success for a Green Future," was evaluated as demonstrating high practical application and positive impact on the environment.
Ms. Le Thi Chung, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Nui Thanh Commune, said that integrating environmental protection education into English lessons through the learning model from Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan's project has contributed to promoting the role of women in innovative education and green transformation. This inspires and guides students to participate in STEM activities, raises environmental awareness, and spreads positive values to the community...
