An opportunity to choose good stocks at attractive prices.

(NLĐO) - Amidst volatile stock markets, experts believe this is an opportunity for medium- and long-term investors to accumulate shares.

At the seminar "Seizing Opportunities Amidst Volatility" organized by KB Securities Vietnam on the afternoon of April 10th, experts noted that the Vietnamese stock market is facing many variables but still offers investment opportunities, especially in the medium and long term.

Don't be too pessimistic.

A notable positive development is that Vietnamese stocks have recently been upgraded to secondary emerging market status by FTSE Russell, which is expected to attract foreign capital inflows in the near future.

However, geopolitical developments, particularly tensions in the Middle East, caused significant market volatility in the first quarter of 2026. According to Mr. Vo Nguyen Khoa Tuan, Senior Director of Securities Operations at Dragon Capital, investor sentiment has shifted from optimistic to cautious and defensive.

However, Mr. Tuan believes that in the current context, this is an opportunity for medium- and long-term investors to accumulate shares at reasonable prices.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, Director of Securities Analysis at KB Vietnam, commented that the developments in negotiations between the US and Iran will significantly impact market sentiment. If the conflict de-escalates, the market may become more positive, but further specific developments still need to be monitored.

According to Mr. Tran Duc Anh, Director of Macroeconomics and Market Strategy at KB Securities Vietnam, geopolitical conflicts affect many variables such as exchange rates, inflation, and interest rates. However, the State Bank of Vietnam's policy direction remains focused on stability, controlling inflation, and supporting growth.

The stock remains attractive.

Experts believe that although the market bottom cannot yet be determined, in the medium term, stocks remain a more attractive investment channel than savings accounts.

Currently, popular deposit interest rates are at 6%-7.5% per year, higher than the previous lows but not yet excessively high. Meanwhile, stock valuations are considered to have returned to reasonable levels, accurately reflecting the value of the businesses.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, after the cycles of increases and decreases from 2018 to the present, the current stock price level is favorable for medium and long-term investment. However, investors need to choose the right industry, the right stock, and the right time.

Regarding sectors, experts highly value bank stocks, especially large private banks that invest heavily in technology or state-owned banks. The securities sector is also expected to benefit from the market recovery and attract new investors after its upgrade.

Meanwhile, the real estate sector is receiving positive reviews due to improved business prospects and higher growth targets compared to the previous year.
