Messi is preparing to go through a busy schedule of matches at both club and national team level.

During the period from late May to mid-June 2025, Lionel Messi entered an extremely busy series of matches, alternating between club and national team levels, notably key matches at MLS, FIFA Club World Cup and 2026 World Cup qualifiers with Argentina.

On May 25, Messi and Inter Miami will travel to Subaru Park to face Philadelphia Union. This is considered a big challenge as the opponent is leading the Eastern Conference standings with 29 points. Inter Miami needs Leo to play in this match to shorten the gap with Philadelphia.

After that, Messi and his teammates will continue a series of intense matches against opponents CF Montreal (May 29) and Columbus Crew (June 1), before entering the national team training session and FIFA Days in early June.

With the Argentina national team, Messi is expected to play two important matches against Chile (June 6) and Colombia (June 11) in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Immediately after that, he and Inter Miami will begin their journey at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup by facing Al-Ahly on June 15.

At 37, physical strength is certainly no longer Messi's big advantage. The former Barcelona star possesses unquestionable class, but to maintain his influence in all three arenas, he needs to be used appropriately.

Currently, Messi is focused on helping Inter Miami overcome difficulties. Speaking after the loss to Orlando, Messi said: "We have to move forward, this is a difficult time, but the whole team will overcome it. When everything goes well, everyone is united, but in the current situation, we need to become a real team, stronger than ever."

He emphasized: "Now is the time to prove the character of a true team. I believe we have the ability to do that. For now, the whole team will focus on preparing for the match against Philadelphia Union."

However, Leo's future is unpredictable. When reporter Michele Giannone asked about the possibility of renewing his contract with Inter Miami, Messi just smiled and answered briefly: "No" with a hint.
