Michael Jackson's son is at odds with his grandmother.

Bigi Jackson, 22, is asking the court to prevent Katherine Jackson, 93, from using Michael Jackson's money to pay for her personal lawsuit.

According to TMZ , Bigi (nicknamed Blanket) and his grandmother filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court to prevent Michael Jackson's estate administrators from conducting business transactions with the late artist's assets. The site suggests this could involve a deal to sell half of the artist's music catalog – related to the publishing rights to his songs – for $600 million to Sony. The court rejected their request.

However, Katherine is now appealing the decision. Blanket believes that neither party has a chance of winning, so he doesn't want to spend money on expensive legal fees, according to the Daily Mail . Blanket also disagrees with his grandmother using money from Michael Jackson's estate – of which he is the heir – to pay the charges.

On March 22nd, TMZ reported that Michael Jackson's estate management team stated Katherine has received a total of $55 million since Michael Jackson's death in 2009. Meanwhile, Blanket's lawyers are seeking a court ruling that would allow her to be reimbursed for legal fees from the original lawsuit.

According to the Daily Mail , estate managers John Branca and John McClain had previously sought court approval for a sale of Michael Jackson's assets in 2022. This led Katherine to object, demanding that the two pay over $500,000 for legal disputes and use the money to cover court costs. Branca and McClain filed a motion in Los Angeles court to reject Katherine's request.

Bigi Jackson, 22, the youngest child of the "King of Pop," has an unknown mother. Before Blanket, there are Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. (also known as Prince), 27, and Paris Jackson, 25. Both are Blanket's half-siblings. He pursued a career in filmmaking and won an award at the 2024 Santa Monica Film Festival for his short film *Rochelles* .
