The People's Police are spreading a reading culture in accordance with President Ho Chi Minh's teachings.

VHO - On May 19th in Hanoi, the Political Affairs Department (Ministry of Public Security) held the closing ceremony of the "Book and Library Technology Exhibition".

This is one of the key activities in response to Vietnam's Book and Reading Culture Day in the People's Public Security Force (CAND) in 2026, and also carries profound significance on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2026).

Major General, People's Artist Nguyen Cong Bay, Deputy Director of the Political Affairs Department, delivered the concluding remarks.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General, People's Artist Nguyen Cong Bay, Deputy Director of the Political Affairs Department, said that this year's Book and Reading Culture Day in the People's Police Force has the theme: The People's Police Force following Uncle Ho's teachings - Innovating thinking - Enhancing knowledge - Regular and modern - For the Party, for the people .

Within the framework of the program , the Book and Library Technology Exhibition took place from April 15th to May 19th with 11 exhibition booths, showcasing thousands of new books. Many works by leaders of the Party, State, and Ministry of Public Security, along with 80 outstanding works from the 5th "For National Security and Peaceful Life" novel, short story, and essay writing competition, were introduced to readers.

The highlight of the exhibition was the space for experiencing modern library technology. The area for experiencing technology applications using artificial intelligence also attracted a large number of officers, soldiers, and readers.

The exhibition attracted the attention of many young soldiers.

Alongside the exhibition, the Reading Month program and the "Giving Knowledge - Receiving the Future" book donation activity at the Public Security Library were implemented simultaneously, creating a space for learning and sharing knowledge for officers and soldiers.

According to the organizers, by May 19th, the series of activities had attracted nearly 2,100 readers, nearly 40 groups visiting the exhibition, and donated nearly 1,500 books. The Ministry of Public Security also organized many book exchange and circulation activities throughout the force, contributing to enriching the source of learning and research materials.

Major General, People's Artist Nguyen Cong Bay, Deputy Director of the Political Affairs Department, presented gifts and expressed gratitude to collaborators who have accompanied, spread, and developed a reading culture within the People's Police Force.

Major General Nguyen Cong Bay added that in the coming time, the Political Affairs Department will continue to advise the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on investing in and strengthening the library and reading room system; promoting digital transformation, building electronic libraries, shared databases and smart library models within the People's Public Security Force.

Also at the closing ceremony, Dr. Vu Duong Thuy Nga, former Director of the Library Department (now the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Libraries - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), gave a thematic talk on the topic of "Reading and Lifelong Learning Following the Example of President Ho Chi Minh".

Dr. Vu Duong Thuy Nga gave a presentation on the topic "Reading and lifelong learning following the example of President Ho Chi Minh".

By sharing significant milestones and profound memories of President Ho Chi Minh's lifelong love of reading and learning, and recalling his teachings to the People's Public Security Force, the speaker emphasized the role of reading culture – the foundation of lifelong learning – in shaping the strong political character, sharp thinking, professional expertise, and impeccable ethics of the officers and soldiers of the People's Public Security Force.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also presented gifts of gratitude to collaborators and loyal readers of the Public Security Library, and donated books to delegates and participating units.
