Recently, social media was abuzz with images of a dining bill, allegedly from Sam Son, totaling nearly 18 million VND, with red crab alone costing 12 million VND. This information quickly attracted a large amount of interaction, leading to many comments questioning the alleged overcharging of tourists.
Following these developments, the Sam Son Ward Police, in coordination with other relevant agencies, promptly launched an investigation.
The results showed that the aforementioned invoice was printed at Chinh Thuy Palace restaurant, located on Ho Xuan Huong Street. The owner of the establishment is Ms. Vu Thi Mai Anh (born in 1997).
The group was identified as consisting of 24 people, from Hanoi .
According to verification, on the evening of April 30th, a group of 13 adults and 11 children dined at the restaurant after making a reservation and agreeing on the price. Around 9 PM that same day, the group finished their meal and paid a total of 17,925,000 VND. The restaurant issued a full invoice.

During questioning by the police, the representative of the group, Mr. Hoang Duy Cuong (born in 1992, residing in Hanoi), confirmed that they had agreed on the menu and prices beforehand and had no complaints after using the service. Furthermore, the group even continued to order food at the same restaurant the following day.
Authorities also determined that the restaurant publicly displayed its prices and sold goods at the prices listed.
Regarding the source of the information circulating online, Ms. Uong Thi Thuy (born in 1991, residing in Hanoi) stated that she obtained the invoice image from the tour group's Zalo group and posted it on her personal Facebook page with a comparison of travel costs. The post was then widely shared, accompanied by many negative comments.
Ms. Thuy asserted that the post was solely intended to express her personal opinion and not to "attract" interaction. After the incident spread, she proactively removed the post.
According to authorities, some websites have exploited information in a way that distorts the nature of the events, causing misunderstanding among the public about the "price gouging" situation in Sam Son.
The spread of unverified information not only affects the reputation of businesses but also negatively impacts the image of local tourism during peak holiday seasons.
The Sam Son Ward Police have reported the incident to the Provincial Police Director. Authorities are also reviewing related accounts and websites to take appropriate action if any violations are found.
