TPO - Mr. Tran Quoc Trung, Deputy Director of Campus II of the Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City, is 39 years old this year and will be the youngest person to meet the professor standard in 2025, according to the announcement of the State Council of Professors.

The State Council of Professors has just announced that 900 candidates have received the required number of votes of confidence, including 71 professor candidates and 829 associate professor candidates.

Among them, Mr. Tran Quoc Trung, Deputy Director of Campus II of the Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City, is 39 years old this year and is the youngest person to meet the professor qualification standards in 2025.

The State Council of Professors has met and approved the dossiers of 900 candidates who meet the standards for the titles of professor and associate professor.

The two young associate professors, both born in 1992 and now 33 years old, are: Mr. Do Quang Loc, lecturer at the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), and Ms. Nguyen Ha Thanh, principal researcher at the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department, Institute of Chemistry - Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

According to a report from the Office of the State Council of Professors, in 2025, 1073 candidates (100 professor candidates, 973 associate professor candidates) submitted applications for recognition of professor and associate professor titles.

After reviewing applications, assessing foreign language proficiency, evaluating comprehensive scientific reports, and conducting a vote of confidence, 1014 candidates were recommended for recognition as meeting the standards by 28 disciplinary and interdisciplinary professorial councils.

The sectoral and interdisciplinary councils have met to review and approve the qualifications for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025, and the result is that 911 candidates (73 professor candidates and 938 associate professor candidates) have been recommended for State recognition.

After receiving the candidates' applications, the Office of the State Council of Professors coordinated the verification and review of the supporting documents in all candidate files before submitting them to the State Council of Professors for consideration and recognition.

In the end, 900 candidates received the required number of votes of confidence, including 71 professor candidates and 829 associate professor candidates.

The State Council of Professors stated that, in 2025, the public disclosure of information on qualified candidates on the websites of higher education institutions and the website of the State Council of Professors reflects the openness and transparency of the process of evaluating and granting qualifications for these titles.
