The State Council of Professors has announced the list of 836 candidates recognized as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025. In the interdisciplinary field of Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Medicine - Aquaculture, only one candidate was recognized as meeting the standards for the title of professor, that is Associate Professor, Doctor (PGS.TS) Le Minh Hoang, Director of the Institute of Aquaculture, Nha Trang University.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Minh Hoang was born in 1981, 44 years old, hometown in Tan Duyet commune, Dam Doi district, old Ca Mau province, now Dam Doi commune, Ca Mau province.
He belongs to the 8X generation of lecturers, with many outstanding achievements in aquatic animal research, especially reproductive physiology, nutrition and preservation, and evaluation of fish sperm quality - an in-depth research direction with important significance in breeding and high-tech marine farming.

Associate Professor, Dr. Le Minh Hoang graduated with a bachelor's degree in Aquaculture from the University of Fisheries (now Nha Trang University) in 2004 and was retained at the school as a lecturer.
He then went to study abroad in Korea, completing his master's and doctoral degrees in Fisheries and Oceanography at Pukyong National University (Korea) in 2008 and 2010, respectively.
In 2018, at the age of 37, he was recognized as Associate Professor of Fisheries.
During 20 years of teaching and research, Associate Professor Dr. Le Minh Hoang has published 90 scientific articles, including 41 articles in prestigious international journals. Notably, he has 12 articles in Q1 journal, 13 articles in Q2 journal and 13 articles in Q3 journal.
Notably, he has reviewed scientific articles for several prestigious international journals and is an editor for the Q3 journal Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (a group of 50-75% of prestigious journals in the field of fisheries and aquatic sciences).
His two main research directions include: reproductive physiology and nutrition in aquatic animals and the impact of ecological factors - ecological aquaculture. He is also the head of the Applied Hydrobiology research group and the in-depth research group on physiology, nutrition and breeding of marine fish and penaeid shrimp.
In addition to his teaching duties, Associate Professor Dr. Le Minh Hoang has presided over the development of many important training programs of Nha Trang University, including: PhD program in Aquaculture, Master's program in English in Aquaculture, undergraduate program in Aquaculture, training program ordered by Minh Phu Group and program awarded 5 stars UPM for training quality (the highest level in the system of evaluating and ranking the quality of university training).
In particular, Mr. Le Minh Hoang is a key staff member of international projects such as NORHED (Norway), WIFEED (Europe), VLIR Network (Belgium)..., and also teaches in cooperation programs on marine science with Norway, Belgium, Spain, and Portugal.
Currently, the only candidate for interdisciplinary professorship in Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Medicine - Aquaculture is teaching at Nha Trang University and Can Tho University (aquaculture master program under the VLIR VN Network Bioscience for Food in Vietnam project funded by the Belgian government).
In the self-assessment report, Associate Professor Dr. Le Minh Hoang said that he always focuses on updating new knowledge and incorporating research results into lectures, aiming to inspire research for students in the context of Vietnam's marine fisheries entering a transition period towards technology and ecology.
