On April 11 in Hanoi, the National Cybersecurity Association (NCA) introduced the nCademy Cybersecurity Training and Certification Platform. The platform was built with the goal of creating a learning community, raising awareness and conducting in-depth research on cybersecurity.

Learners will develop comprehensive skills, take exams and receive certification upon completion of the course. The association expects that nCademy's certification system will contribute to standardizing competencies, aiming for widespread use, equivalent to popular international certificates currently in Vietnam.

According to Mr. Vu Ngoc Son - Head of Technology Department, National Cyber Security Association said: "Vietnam is expected to lack more than 700,000 specialized personnel in cybersecurity in the coming time. According to a survey by the National Cyber Security Association, more than 20% of agencies and enterprises in Vietnam do not have specialized personnel in cybersecurity and 35.56% of units do not have enough personnel according to demand."

According to Mr. Son, the nCademy platform wishes to participate in solving the problem of the country's shortage of cybersecurity personnel, in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

The nCademy platform offers online courses, from basic to advanced, supporting multiple platforms, including web applications and mobile applications. The learning materials are diversely built, study and practice guides with vivid visual illustrations (images, videos).

In particular, nCademy focuses on practical training through simulation environments (cyber range), which can simulate many real-world systems such as information technology (IT) systems, industrial control systems (OT) or Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The platform uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help personalize learning paths, recommend appropriate courses, support learning outcomes assessment and confirm cybersecurity skills. Cybersecurity certificates will be provided in printed or digitally signed copies.

The advantage of nCademy is that it is invested, deployed, and operated centrally, overcoming the unevenness in technology infrastructure and resources of agencies and organizations. Increasing access to high-quality training services for learners, anyone can participate without being limited by geography. Not only targeting specialized personnel in cybersecurity, the platform also provides popular, advanced, and updated courses on cybersecurity awareness and skills for ordinary users. Creating conditions for learners nationwide to access courses with flexible time, optimizing learning efficiency, contributing to the formation of a movement to study and practice cybersecurity skills regularly.

To leverage the power of the community, the National Cyber Security Association (NCA) will operate a centralized technical platform, while domestic and international cybersecurity agencies and businesses will design and build virtual environments, courses, attack and defense scenarios, and provide expert guidance and teaching.

The quality of the courses is assessed and supervised by a professional council from the Cyber Security Research Institute (CRI) under the National Cyber Security Association and the Institute of Information Technology, under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

The Association representative said that the nCademy project does not use the state budget, development funds are mobilized from social sponsorship sources. Courses that aim to disseminate knowledge will be provided free of charge. Meanwhile, courses that require a practical environment and instructors will charge learners to maintain infrastructure and develop content.

The nCademy platform is expected to run a small-scale trial for three weeks at nCademy.vn. The platform will officially go into operation from May 6, 2025./.
