The banking industry has always been one of the pioneers in the national digital transformation process.
“Organizing this year’s event with the theme: “Smart digital ecosystem in the new era” is a testament to that determination. This theme not only closely follows the direction of the Party and the Government, but also clearly demonstrates the message: The banking industry takes people and businesses as the center of service, promotes the application of innovative products and services, develops a smart, interconnected and secure digital ecosystem, towards the goal of comprehensive, all-people digital transformation to accelerate and break through the development of the digital economy,” Ms. Le Thi Thuy Sen emphasized.
Sharing more about the reason for choosing the theme "Smart digital ecosystem in the new era", the representative of the Organizing Committee said that, first of all, this is a theme that fits the goals of the new era, demonstrating the determination of the banking industry in pioneering the construction of a modern digital financial ecosystem, focusing on customers, applying advanced technologies such as AI, big data, blockchain to enhance the experience and meet diverse financial needs.
At the same time, this year's theme is also consistent with the major policies and orientations of the Party, State and Government such as Resolution 57 and Decision 1813/QD-TTg on the development of non-cash payments in Vietnam. This is an inheritance and development from previous years' themes, aiming for a smart, flexible and sustainable digital financial ecosystem, contributing to making Vietnam rise strongly in the international arena.
At the press conference, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Payment Department, added: After 4 years of implementing Decision 810, digital transformation activities in the banking industry have achieved encouraging results, contributing to the overall development of the economy.
The State Bank is constantly improving the legal framework to promote digital transformation in banking. Infrastructure serving digital transformation in the banking sector is always focused on investment, upgrading and development. Many friendly banking products and services with rich utilities bring practical values to meet the diverse needs of customers. Many basic operations have been 100% digitized (savings deposits, term deposits, opening and using payment accounts, opening bank cards, e-wallets, money transfers, loans, etc.). Many credit institutions in Vietnam have a rate of more than 90% of transactions conducted on digital channels. To date, more than 87% of Vietnamese adults have bank accounts, and non-cash payments have grown positively.
