(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The development of technology presents both opportunities and pressures for schools in innovating their training programs accordingly.

This information was presented at the seminar "The Future of the Financial Investment Sector: Market Context, Technological Impact, and Skills Students Need," jointly organized by Hanoi University on March 24th in Hanoi.

The seminar focused on discussing issues such as: the current financial market landscape along with opportunities and challenges; new requirements for high-quality human resources ready to adapt to market changes; and what students need to be equipped with to face the challenges of the job market…

Connecting students and businesses

Responding to a reporter from Dan Tri newspaper , Mr. Pham Van Hung, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Business Administration and Tourism , and Director of the Center for Innovation and Startup Support - Hanoi University, stated that the development of technology is both an opportunity and a pressure for the university.

The pressure lies in the fact that schools need to update and innovate their training programs to ensure they are relevant and provide students with the necessary skills to enter the labor market after graduation.

Regarding the training program, according to Mr. Hung, the school will separate foundational knowledge from research and learning methods. Basic knowledge is the hard, unchangeable core, while research and learning methods are the easiest to change.

For example, in the past, instructors assigned and corrected homework, but now, students analyze and even critique each other's work.

In particular, the school regularly interacts with businesses to provide students with internship and practical experience, with diverse opportunities each semester tailored to each course.

According to Mr. Hung, no matter how much technology changes, it cannot replace humans. Therefore, the most important thing is still foundational knowledge; then, whether we use AI or technology, the operators are still humans, and humans remain very important.

Therefore, what schools provide to students must be flexible. Teaching multiple different tools simultaneously offers many advantages, such as enabling students to confidently enter the job market regardless of the environment they are placed in.

In response to a student's question, "Given the changes in technology, what do we students need to equip ourselves with?", Mr. Hung said that students certainly need to have solid knowledge and skills.

Learning is limitless, and interdisciplinary approaches are especially important. For example, students studying economics should have some knowledge of technology and be proficient in using some common computer tools.

In particular, students must possess professional ethics and adaptability, as well as the ability to independently seek out and learn new skills and information; these are crucial requirements for their success.

The school updates its training program.

At the seminar, experts and guests also shared perspectives on the impact of technology on learners, issues related to new trends in the financial market, including digital transformation in investment, AI application in investment, digitalized investment banking, quantitative trading, and digital assets...

From there, the potential and career opportunities in the finance sector in Vietnam, along with the practical requirements for success in this field, are assessed and analyzed.

According to Mr. Luong Ngoc Minh, Vice Rector of Hanoi University, the development of AI, Big Data, and Blockchain technology directly impacts the financial industry, creating new trends for the future.

The seminar contributed to helping students and lecturers gain a deeper understanding of their professional knowledge, develop flexible thinking, and improve their ability to analyze data related to economics and markets.

Based on that, the school is always committed to updating its training programs, aiming to provide students with many practical opportunities to develop themselves.
