The decision clearly states that Hai Phong Station at 75 Luong Khanh Thien, Cau Dat Ward, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong City, managed by Vietnam Railways Corporation, is recognized as a tourist destination.
The City People's Committee assigned Vietnam Railways Corporation to be responsible for organizing the management, exploitation, operation, maintenance of conditions, and development of Hai Phong Station Tourist Site in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Tourism and other relevant laws.
Hai Phong recognizes Hai Phong Station as a tourist destination
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism shall preside over and coordinate with the Departments and branches: Construction, Agriculture and Environment, Industry and Trade, Health, City Police and relevant agencies based on their functions and tasks, to guide, inspect and supervise Vietnam Railways Corporation in organizing the management, exploitation and investment in the development of Hai Phong Station Tourist Site, ensuring efficiency and sustainability in accordance with the provisions of law.
During operation, if Hai Phong Railway Station Tourist Site no longer meets the prescribed conditions, the City People's Committee will consider revoking the decision to recognize the Tourist Site.
Hai Phong Station was built in the early years of the 20th century, on the Hai Phong - Hanoi - Lao Cai - Yunnan (China) railway route. The station was officially put into operation on June 16, 1902. This is not only a railway station serving the railway industry, but it also preserves unique historical and architectural values; becoming a symbol and a famous place attracting visitors to visit, explore history and experience the railway train in Hai Phong city.
Hai Phong Station is associated with historical events of resistance and socio-economic development of the people of Hai Phong City and the Vietnam Railway Industry; it has been ranked as a "Historical Relic of Resistance" by the People's Committee of Hai Phong City according to Decision No. 177/QD-UB dated January 28, 2005.
According to the assessment, Hai Phong Station is a famous place attracting visitors to visit, explore history and experience the railway train in Hai Phong city. In addition to the unique architectural art of the station, Hai Phong Station also has advantages in tourism.
Specifically, Hai Phong Station is located right on Luong Khanh Thien Street, Ngo Quyen District, near the city's major roads. From the station, visitors can easily access the city's tourist attractions. In addition, the station is the end point of the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line, helping visitors from Hanoi and neighboring provinces have convenient and cost-saving means of transportation; an ideal choice for tourists who like to experience the scenery on both sides of the road or want to enjoy a safe and comfortable journey.
The number of passengers going to Hai Phong Station currently includes the number of passengers traveling by train to Hai Phong Station as a check-in point, then participating in tourist itineraries: food tour; city tour; to Do Son beach, Hon Dau...
According to Decision No. 1769/QD-TTg dated October 19, 2021 of the Prime Minister on Approval of the Railway Network Planning for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050. This decision orients the development of the national railway network, including railway lines passing through the Hai Phong area to improve connectivity and promote socio-economic development of the city and neighboring areas.
In addition, according to the Hai Phong city planning for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050, the city plans to build 4 national railway lines and 4 urban railway lines, including line 2: Connecting Trang Cat urban area with the current Hai Phong station.
Currently, the station has installed a complete system of signs and explanations about tourist attractions, ensuring completeness and convenience for visitors, including: signs of the station map, sightseeing areas, train ticket price list, kiosk system introducing Hai Phong Station. Time for visitors to visit is from 7:00 to 23:00 every day (including holidays and Tet) with 2 planned routes.
Route 1: Visitors enter from the station gate, visit the architecture in front of the station, the architecture inside the station, visit the exhibition room of railway artifacts in the central train waiting room on the 1st floor; Go to the 2nd floor to watch a documentary film screening in a private room that can accommodate about 50 people; participate in experiential activities such as playing the role of a station employee, a station master during the French period... Then visitors move to the large area behind the station to visit the ancient train, functional houses, old locomotives, visit the French-era railway tracks, and war shelters. Experience the train service from Hai Phong station to Hai Phong port and vice versa; visit around the station, take pictures with miniatures, flower spaces, use shopping, culinary, and massage services... at the station. At the end of the tour, visitors will go back to the garage.
Route 2: Visitors go to Hai Phong station from Hanoi, Hai Duong, provinces... by passenger trains on the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line. Arriving at Hai Phong station, visitors experience the following services: Visiting the back of the station, visiting ancient trains, ancient carriages, French-era railway tracks, war shelters, ancient locomotives, taking pictures with miniatures, flower spaces; Experience the train service from Hai Phong station to Hai Phong port and vice versa. Next, visitors visit the rooms inside the station, the exhibition room on the first floor; Go to the second floor to watch documentary films in a private room; participate in experiential activities such as playing the role of a station employee, a French-era stationmaster... Visitors experience shopping, culinary, massage relaxation services... in the functional rooms and food court in the area in front of the station. Check in and take pictures at the station square. At the end of the tour, visitors go to the parking lot to continue their journey to visit tourist attractions in Hai Phong City.
