On the afternoon of August 9th, the Central Propaganda Department organized a nationwide online conference to review and provide training on political theory education at the grassroots level in 2023. At the beginning of the conference, delegates listened to Dr. Doan Van Bau, Director of the Department of Political Theory, present a summary report on the results of political theory education at the grassroots level in 2022 and the direction and tasks for the remaining months of 2023.
Over the past year (from the briefing and training conference held in April 2022 to the present), under the timely leadership and guidance of Party committees at all levels, political theory education has implemented many solutions to improve the quality of training and political theory education for cadres and Party members at the grassroots level. Political theory education has contributed to unity within the Party and consensus in society; creating confidence and enthusiasm among cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people.

In 2022, political centers nationwide opened 2,558 Party awareness training courses with 165,859 participants; 8,017 political theory training courses for 102,065 new Party members; 4,110 basic political theory courses with 50,418 participants; 4,561 specialized courses with 254,222 participants; 17,541 professional training courses with 256,185 participants; 27,649 training courses for cadres of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and political and social organizations with 389,650 participants; and 32,393 refresher courses for cadres and Party members at the grassroots level with 244,067 participants.
Efforts to improve the quality of the teaching staff; invest in facilities and equipment to support political theory education; and inspect and supervise political theory training and education continue to be given attention by localities, agencies, and units.
At the conference, delegates also listened to nine presentations from the Propaganda Departments of various localities on the work of grassroots political theory education in 2023.
For the last six months of the year, the Central Propaganda Department has identified the following priorities: continuing to improve the quality of political theory training and education for cadres and Party members at the grassroots level; improving the quality of political theory lecturers at the district level; strengthening inspection and supervision of the content of political theory training and education; consolidating and improving the quality and effectiveness of the political theory and Party history departments and district-level political centers...
In his remarks at the conference, Comrade Le Hai Binh, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, requested that the propaganda departments of provincial and city Party committees and Party committees directly under the Central Committee continue to innovate the content, form, and methods of political theory education programs; research and supplement new solutions; develop concise content; and create rich and attractive communication formats on the internet and social media suitable to the new situation. He also requested coordination with relevant agencies and units to direct and guide district-level political centers to effectively implement annual training and development programs and plans.

The 2023 conference and training session on political theory education at the grassroots level took place over 1.5 days. This afternoon, the conference focused on clarifying the results of political theory education at the grassroots level in 2022 and the direction and tasks for the remaining months of 2023. On the morning of August 10th, the conference conducted training on two topics. Topic 1: Some theoretical issues concerning socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam; Topic 2: An overview of the political system in Vietnam. Later that afternoon, the conference continued to disseminate training materials on political theory and professional skills for officials of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, veterans' associations, and farmers' associations at the grassroots level; and conducted training on the specialized program on Party history - "Our Party is truly great". |
