Vietnam Electricity Development Corporation: A bright spot in effectively combining production and business tasks with social responsibility and employee welfare

As the managing unit of Khe Bo Hydropower Plant - a key project providing electricity for the North Central region, Vietnam Power Development Joint Stock Company (VNPD) is considered one of the bright spots of the Electricity industry in harmoniously combining production and business tasks and taking care of workers' lives, building corporate culture associated with sustainable development.

VNPD is the owner of Khe Bo Hydropower Plant, with a capacity of 100 MW, located on the Ca River. This is one of the affiliated companies of Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1) - Vietnam Electricity Group. The company is responsible for providing stable and timely electricity output, contributing to meeting the needs of the National Power System with high quality and availability.

In addition to generating electricity, VNPD's plants also play a role in regulating and supplying water for production and daily life in the downstream areas of Nghe An and Binh Thuan (now Lam Dong province, where the Bac Binh Hydropower Plant with a capacity of 33MW is located). With the motto "Safety - Efficiency - Quality - Stability", VNPD constantly improves its management and operation capacity, ensuring effective production and business activities.

In the first months of 2025, despite many challenges due to hydropower operating conditions that depend heavily on weather and water flow, VNPD's production and business activities remained stable.

Along with production tasks, VNPD pays special attention to the rights and lives of workers. The Company's Trade Union has played a good role as a bridge, organizing many practical activities, such as taking care of children of staff and workers, visiting and promptly encouraging workers in difficult circumstances; at the same time, investing in improving working conditions, building living and sports spaces, creating a humane and cohesive working environment.

This concern is institutionalized through specific policies. In 2024, VNPD was ranked A by the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union in implementing the Collective Labor Agreement - the highest level in the industry. This is a clear demonstration of the Company's commitment to ensuring the harmony of interests between the enterprise and employees.

2025 is also the final stage of implementing the Master Plan on EVNGENCO1 Corporate Culture for the period 2022-2025. VNPD has synchronously deployed many solutions such as disseminating the code of conduct, building a model of leadership culture, training specialized staff, organizing competitions, cultural festivals and communication programs on energy conversion and sustainable development. These activities are not just slogans but have been put into practice, contributing to the formation of a professional, disciplined and friendly working environment, where employees can develop their capacity and become more attached to the enterprise.

In the context of the Electricity industry promoting greening and digital transformation, VNPD has proactively participated in many domestic and international forums and seminars on renewable energy and clean energy; at the same time, implemented communication programs on sustainable development, affirming the pioneering role of enterprises in providing energy sources that are not only stable but also environmentally friendly. In particular, the event "Cultural Festival 2025" was successfully organized and became a mark affirming a strong transformation in corporate culture - from traditional standards to modern, humane, and vibrant thinking.

With positive production and business results, guaranteed workers' lives, and synchronous and effective corporate culture implementation, VNPD is gradually realizing the goal of sustainable development associated with social responsibility and the companionship of workers.
