Nghe An Border Guard built a temporary bridge to help 42 households in Huoi Thum village, Na Ngoi commune.

Due to the impact of storm No. 5, heavy rains over the past 2 days have washed away the spillway and damaged part of the iron bridge over the flood on the only road to Huoi Thum village, Na Ngoi commune, Nghe An province, causing 42 households to be isolated and many students unable to return to school on schedule.

This morning (August 27), Na Ngoi Border Guard Station mobilized officers and soldiers, directly commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Kien - Station Chief, in coordination with militia, police and local authorities, and villagers to urgently build a temporary bridge.

With the urgent and active participation of local forces and people, in just over 4 hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the temporary wooden bridge was completed, ensuring the passage of people and motorbikes, serving the supply of necessities, medicine and essential living needs.

Authorities also arranged for officers and militia to be on duty to guide people across the bridge safely and to develop a plan to build a solid, long-term bridge.
